I have a site with an alexa ranking of 278,222 is this good? How can I use this to my advantage? www.verizongo.com is the site.
Alexa only matters on thier search. Under 100,000 is doing real good. Most sites start around 500,000 i think
I believe they start as "no data" when you start getting a few hits you'll move down to 7 or 8 million ranks. Under 100,000 is very good ranking.
I dont know why people look at Alexa as part of their business process. Alexa is a dead horse that Google is stomping into the ground with each toolbar install, their data is dropping off quicker than you can say goodbuy. Other than SEO and all that hoopla, look at your stats. Your website stats will tell you how you stand, and what you need to do to keep growing. Look into your business to see where you need to go, dont ask someone else to tell you how you need go about it when they provide nothing more than a graph for kicks that will not match your raw log data for what is really happening at your website.
It's interesting to look at from time to time, kinda like compete.com or other similar sites. I don't pay much attention to it, though, and certainly don't do anything to try improve my ranking there.
