Are ringtones a sinking ship?

Today my techniques kicked in for my sites i put up about 5 days ago and i got two conversions for a total of about 22$ on neverblue. Now i am expecting at least 1 conversion a day from this specific offer.

I invested 20$ into it and the traffic should last pointing to this offer for a very long time. Now i just heard about the ring tones are going down hill because there adding all kinds of new rules to them.

For one they are starting to send like an extra things to people who sign up where they have to confirm that they are paying so and so money every month by signing up.

So now would it be better for me to turn this traffic and point it to those easier offers like the free sign up pages but you only get like 2.50$ a lead? Do you think i could earn more?

Or should i increase the traffic made from these ring tone techniques i am using to try to push the conversions as far as i can and see if i can break 100$ a day with those offers? Or should i switch to 2.50$ offers and hope i can get 4 conversions to = 1 regular sale conversion?

Ringtones are not in danger of dying anytime soon. The fire is still hot, so my advice is keep striking.

Some ships you don't need to worry about until they actually sink. Ringtones aren't your primary income source are they?

Ringtones are definitely on the decline. The real problem is "free" ringtone services (which actually allow you convert .mp3 files to ringtones for no charge) - even iTunes is now selling ringtones I believe.

That being said, there is still money to be made in the industry. I just wish I had gotten into it 2 years ago when the money was REALLY good. By the way, Azoogle is by far the best affiliate network out there for ringtone offers...

I wouldn't even bother with something I wasn't totally confident about. If you can't be 100% confident in your business venture you are probably wasting your time anyway. If you are nervous about the decline in the ringtone market, I would suggest seeking out another market.

From my perspective, the less competition the better, but a bit of advice. All hot markets decline eventually. The wisdom is in knowing when to jump on. Once you are on you won't have to worry about jumping off, the market will do that for you.

The ringtones market is not going to decline but it may get saturated soon and that will decrease conversion per site. In affiliate marketing, you cannot depend on just one niche, you need to work on a number of niches so while ringtones are converting for you now, try something else as well so in case sales decline, you have something else running as well.

As I said, my friend, the ring tone market isn't going south any time soon. Remember the law of supply and demand. The problem now becomes competition over keywords OR finding new ways to get interested traffic to your landing pages. As long as people want ring tones, they'll do whatever they can to get them.

Wow, i havent heard of anyone purchasing ringtones in a long long time. Here, we just download tracks as normal MP3's and then put them on the phone directly. You can set a MP3 to be a ringtone on all modern mobiles/"cells".

thats what im talking about, people are getting more tech savy and why pay for ring tones when you can get them for free and put 50 of them on your phone. Just like music i don't know if ring tones will be a major thing anymore, but anyways i took the risk and invested about 100$ into it with 50$ made back already so i guess its good enough im averaging 10-20$ a day from it now.

Regardless of how tech savvy people are becoming, there will always be n00bs who are too lazy or just don't have the resources to learn how to make their own ring tones. And it's not like it's one wave of n00bs; there are new waves every day.

    I know :D

I'm hoping it stays around long term - the good news is cell phone usage is continuing to increase both in the United States and especially around the world.

Does anyone else feel like we in europe are a good few years ahead of america when it comes to mobile/"cell" phones, and i do get the impression that the ringtone market in the europe is completly over saturated and dead. It is simply to simple for a n00b (as one poster put it) to plug a phone into a computer via a USB and drag a file over to the memory card.

Actually I think this is a declining market

Most new phones can use mp3's as ringtones, and most people do have at least some mp3 files on thier computer or know where to get them.

I guess mp3 clips might still sell but I really sure midi tunes sales will drop to almost zero very soon.

nicangeli: My thoughts exactly. It's so easy with the new phones to copy content to your phone via USB or a memorycard.
