My question or Page Rank? The reason I ask is because I am now using seo bar that tells me how each web page ranks and how many links they have going out and coming in...but my blog, fitness village has been getting around 500 hits a day and has around 100 or so incoming links...but is not even rating on Google... So not sure how to change that...the blog has been around since October...maybe it has not been updated on Google?
Google page rank is how google ranks your websites importance. It depends on the number of backlinks you have and the amount of traffic and number of directories you submit your site to
PR is a joke, its supposed to be your sites rank according to Google, but its really quite worthless due to so may people trying to outsmart Google. It only seems to be good for those selling links now, but considering googles recent stand against link selling i feel that will diminish soon.
but PR is not updated frequently. And it's only from 0 o 10, sometimes it's not exact So, there's another method to appreciate a site? Alexa,... And do everybody think about Alexa?
I dont know what people think of them...but I know until I get to 10,000 ranking I wont even be on their radar...my fitness blog is dropping...but I have a long way to go...not sure if that is because it is fitness, or that the blog is no good... I suppose the more popular the subject the harder it is to get ranked on anything...but I am also assuming that the harder the market the better ranked you get the more you will get from it once you do get ranked...
PR goes from 1 to 10, 10 being the best. Its based on back links, which are other sites linking to you
I think this is the one area I have not been working on...I looked at my sight and most of my stuff is backlinked or referenced by other word press blogs and stuff... The one time I went over a thousand hits on my blog was the time I found a popular sight called rosstraining...the problem was it seemed like I was spamming...I commented on what was posted but people there did not like people including links... SO I got some bad press but a lot of people came... SO I am seeing that I need to spend a LOT more time on backlinking...just not sure how to do that the right way... Perhaps another thread?
When you try to get back links, aim for one way if possible, also try to only link with sites similar to you own. Another thin to remember is a back links value is higher when the link is from a website with a high PR.
