I am not quite sure how you are using the word "index." Here are two possible answers:

    1. Check your stats records or recent visitor logs for hits from Googlebot. You'll know if Google knows where you are.

    2. Search for your domain in Google. If it comes up with your title and some content, you are indexed. If it just comes up as www. yourdomain .com then it has not indexed you yet.

Check your logs. Under user agents, if you see a name like
GoogleBot or something with Google in it, it means that
    Google has visited your site.

But that doesn't mean you have been indexed. It only means
you had been spidered (i.e google visited you).

If you want to know whether Google indexed you or not, then
    you can search for allinurl:www.yourwebsitename.com

If it does not show up, then search for it on www2.google.com
and www3.google.com . If you still don't find your site, then
you haven't been indexed - as simple as that.

You can force Google bots to crawl your website through their tools.
