Actively seek one way links. This is a lot of work, but one way links to your site are of great value. Submit articles for publication on article banks. Offer to write a unique article for another webmaster with links back to your website. This also will take some work, and not all will accept, but there are those who will value free quality content. 8. Submit your site to directories. There are many that are free, and some that will charge. Don't submit to a directory that requires a reciprocal link, unless you feel it will be of special value, or unless your main competitors are also linking with them. 9. Check into social bookmarking. Find out all you can about using these sites. Be responsible in how you use them so you don't get banned. 10. Set up a blog to direct visitors to your main site. You can either use Wordpress, or you could even use Blogger which is very easy for a beginner, and free to use. Post once a week on a regular basis. The search engines will pick up on your schedule and spider on a regular basis. On page optimization is something that you can control and sets the foundation for your off page optimization efforts which will prove more challenging.
