I dont think there is an overall "best" one. There are many very good ones that suit all sorts of people. Im with HostDime and they are good enough for me.
Is there such thing as a good free web host? I know someone that already has a domain name and just needs basic hosting (no php, not a lot of disk space, bandwitdth, etc.). It would be nice if this free host didn't require an ad banner to be placed on each page.
FDChost.com Surely I will support this host since I have been with its parent host for 2 years now without any problem. I am using dedicated server hosted at fdcservers. FDChost is their child company.
I hate hostgator... I am never going to fax someone my ID so I can get SSH... so many other hosts give SSH without a problem.
really depends whether you want shared hosting or dedicated servers. but i have this small piece of advice and please correct me if I am wrong. if you ever feel that you have too many visitors on your shared hosting, don't upgrade to VPS (virtual private server aka semi-dedicated server), just go full with the dedicated. i tried the VPS, and it I got say, it was money and time well waster. oh plus all the headaches i encountered. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Add your site to our directory free | See our search engine in action
(nice idea quoting links and whatever but it gets messy just put them in your sig imo) but anyway, VPS servers aren't always for everyone the one I had was fine but you just gotta make sure you're getting an actual VPS (I recommend powervps.com, very good company, and very good support. 30 day money back guarantee, too!) and not just some shite reseller hosting that a lot of companys offer, but claim to be VPS's
It really depends on who the upstream provider is, and unless you plan on messing around with servers kernel, then yes, a dedicated server would be appropriate. There are some really great VPS hosts out there...
I've used hostgator before and never had a problem. There are a lot of good hosting companies other there. Just do your research.
