Hello guys I am trying to promote one of my acne websites but it has been very hard for me. Authority acne forums do not even allow links in signatures, not even mentioning a site in your avatar. PPC is EXTREMLY expensive. I found a few acne forums with less moderation but everybody there IS ALSO PROMOTING ACNE SITES Comments on blogs do not work all the time, it takes time to get your comment approved. SEO, same thing, hundreds of thousands of sites targeting the same keywords (extremly hard to rank high) Can anyone give me any new suggestions to promote my site. Thanks guys I will add good rep to quality answers, thanks again.
Try google external keyword tool. (just google it) and plug in some key words. Choose words that are less competitive. You can get in "the back door" this way. Examples of less competitive (aka less expensive) keywords are below. I don't know your product so these might not be relevant. Also group your keywords. For example, these all have acne in them so they'd go together. Perhaps zits, pimples etc would have their own group. acne soaps skin acne treatments skin acne products acne reviews printnpost.com is a place you could write relevant articles and post a link to your product or even show a photo of it. The article should not be "salesy" but informative and address the problem. In other words, with your article, you are presenting helpful solutions to acne.
Wow great advice, I actually rank in the top 5 for one of those keywords listed, that is why I get around 15 uniques a day, but the site makes less than .30 cents a day, I need to increase it to at least 100 a day.
I can put some makeup on me face to look like my face is just exploading with acne and take a photo. Then take it off and take another photo. Then I give you the photos for a small price. What do you say? and I put them on my site and link to yer
I'd stick to finding relevant blogs and commenting, as well as looking through places where teenagers will be starting to get acne (for instance there is a group in YouTube called "puberty sucks"). Look through all of the groups on yahoo, msn, google, youtube, stumble, etc... and see where that takes you, also look for relevant directories (I've seen a few health directories advertised in the directories portion of this site). Good luck
I have bookmarked this thread and added rep to the people who helped, tomorrow I will apply some of this techniques. Feel free to add any more, I really want to get my site off the ground.
Unless you have something more valuable or better then the rest of the sites out there, no one would link to you naturally, and paid advertising is the only option remaining. Try to do something out of the box, as someone suggested the picture..
