I'm considering selling my website, and is SitePoint worth the $20 on a say.. $200 sale? Will I be able to get THAT much of a better + quicker buyer on SP?

What are you selling that can't be sold for free on DigitalPoint?

If its something thats hard to sell on DP but there is a market for it, then sometimes Sitepoint is the answer.

I've never had any better luck on Sitepoint than on DP.

I've tried DP but haven't had a good market. It's a proven eBook with $150 in sale, but I can't get a market for it.

Why not make affiliate program for it instead and use some site that sells it for you.

I just started on Sitepoint, and so far, I have sold all my listed sites for higher on Sitepoint - Some of my sites that had no hits at all on Digital Point sold right away on Sitepoint ... it's nice to try a free market first though ... :)

I guess you should try to sell this on sitepoint

It seems to be a serious marketplace and there is no place for scammers like on other forums
(even though I do not like some guys on sitepoint)

lots of scammers on sitepoint and the mods won't do anything to them. (I know as one tried to scam me for a site and the mods told me they don't get involved in that stuff. They didn't even ban him). From what I have seen though, sites seem to go for higher prices on sitepoint. Could be wrong though :)

I like dp for the other things it has (ideas, help etc)

Before selling at SP, get a few reviews to see if you need any improvements. Than put it up for sale at SP. Relist, reword and return the sale back to DP at the same time.

BTw - people always want a cheap sale. Not that you need to lower your sale of 200. But reconsider the amount. Besides how much revenue is the site making besides in ebook sales? Are you selling banner and text link sales? Are you making any adsense, widgetbucks, bidvertiser and clicksor? How many hits are you getting a day? Whats the PR? Whats the Alexa rating? People look at these options before buying. And ebooks are not exactly turnkey. So many may see it as a dime a dozen websites.

I'd sell everything under $1,000 on DP
    and over $1k on SP

+ I hate the mods on SP
well, minus like rudy (he's cool) and dan
but the rest are really full of themselves and are no help at all when you get scammed

SitePoint is completely worthy of the $20, it's never failed me.

For bigger deals, at least... SitePoint will fetch you 20 - 70% more than what DP will :)

A bunch of mods (especially one) are real ayatollahs indeed

    I hate them

I guess they protect their own interests against competitors

And if you want to be welcomed, that's not the place to go

    :(

i use best of both worlds and list at both...

Set up your sitepoint listing first and then set up a thread here with the sitepoint listing code that they give you in your DP thread.

But i do generally see higher priced websites selling more over at Sitepoint rather than DP, but that doesnt stop me being a DP whore! :)

It depends on what your selling, but I always post at DP first and see how things go and then try sitepoint if it is too 'pricey' for some of our fellow Dp'ers. There tend to be more people buying higher priced sites at Sitepoint, but your site for $200 should do fine here. I think that is well within the realm of what people are willing to pay here at DP.

    Good Luck
