That's good advice for everyone. You will get contradictory results, so it's hard to know for sure if you've got a phrase that will get any searches. I guess the only way to tell is to build the page and see. I've only ranked on google for a couple days now, but it's been getting 20-30 uniques a day...so it's not HUGE, but I'm hoping it will increase.

Oh any my keyword phrase is....................Hot Spicy Jambalaya

    or is it?

    Happy Holidays!

and another thing: the keyword tool on google adwords is shit. why?
because it only shows you the tendency of search results and not the
actual number. but what is quite more disturbing is the fact that an average
search volume for one keyword doesn't mean that there are the same
amount of searches for another keyword also with an average search volume.

I still try to grasp why this is done that way by google.

    Hello...

    Nice work on your part...

getting a site to the top of Google or for that matter any engine is easy enough
providing you give it what it seeks.. content

    thx

    Hi Christian,

Congrats to you but I could not help but a question:

Your entire post seemed good, until I realised your post was an 'assumption' of making money or getting visitors.

How many visitors are you ACTUALLY getting to these one or two pages that get 3,000 searches a month?
i.e. Are you actually making any money?

I have used the KD tool in the past - it sucks. I'd rate the google keyword tool far, far better by any standards.

But congrats to you again :)

I have had pages with similar results the problem is that Google eventually finds my site and de-idexes it from the search term. Ive had the same thing happen with 5-6 sites you can rank 1 for a month or 2 and then drop from the index for no reason.

Congrats on getting to number one, and good luck staying there.

Like I said in an earlier post, I only created these pages a week ago, and they just appeared at the #1 google spot a few days ago, so I haven't seen major traffic or $$ yet. Who knows, the 3000 searches per month could be WAY off. If it is, no big deal I guess. It took me a whole 30 minutes to create the two pages that got indexed at #1, so I'm not out too much time or energy.

I found a similar gem when I was going through the natural thought process of creating another site. Needless to say, I was ecstatic to see a certain keyword with little competition and decent search volume.

Moral of the story: keep processing new ideas and act quickly once you've found something good.

That's awesome, and I agree with you 100%. You don't even need a domain to do this; I've done it before with a Blogspot.com blog. All you need to do is do some keyword hunting. You can even create multiple sites on the one topic, and have one of them be your "main" page - and link to the main page with sitewide links from all your other sites, using your keyword. Do this all the time, with different keywords and different pages, and then use affiliate products and advertising and you can make some great income! ;)

Keyword discovery is not accurate at all...Use https://adwords.google.com/select/TrafficEstimatorSandbox ...it's free and it's Googles tool so it's accurate...Just make sure you put a high max cpc so you get all available clicks...Do not use Overture, Kewyord Discovery...Use Google, they know what type of searches they get..

This is what I use http://www.themezoom.com and I do use Googles free tool...

On that adwords tool, it shows the estimated average CPC, what's a good way to estimate what that means in terms of what you will make per click as a publisher? I'm assuming that number isn't what the publishers will make, it's what the people advertising can expect to pay google per click correct?
