    check the url, wiki, I doubt he took the picture but in any case you can take pictures like that using a camera specifically designed for that or most common being where you would overlap several photos and use PS or another program to automatically stitch them together.

    yeah, don't go to wal-mart or best buy type place if possible ;)

    go to a real camera store if you can and if you don't have a real one, try Ritz, Wolf, etc.

    I got this one for Father's Day a couple years ago and my wife nearly shat when she saw the CC bill :eek:

    so in other words it depends on your budget and intended use. are you an avid photographer? will you be taking long hikes with it? and so on.

    well in my case I went to the photo shop not knowing or having anything in mind. I found one that allowed me to buy a separate head and then legs. That way you can customize as your budget allows.

    Manfrotto/Bogen is a very popular choice among professionals.
