Is Amazon a pay per click program or just a sale-commission program???

Do you earn a comission when someone buys a product from your referral???

If I click a product on my own site, is that invalid click (is there such thing as invaid click in Amazon)???

Do you get banned by amazon about invalid clicks???

Does anybody got banned by amazon associate???

Can you customize your own banner sizes???

Until how many banners are you allowed to show???

    Sales only.

Yes, you get about 5% on average.

You can click it, that's fine. I even believe you may buy from your own links. Best to read TOS though on this.

Guilty consience? No, I've never heard of anyone getting banned. They don't pay per click so they probably don't care if you made it to the homepage of Digg on an Amazon aff link.

    Not that I know of...

Yes, you can make your own banners and just use the links. Read the TOS on what you can and can't do exactly.

As many as you think you need. Amazon pays for sales, they are happy for you to send loads of traffic and loads of sales.

No, buying via your own link is against the TOS (though it may not have always been.) I checked when I signed up. But I don't think they care about just clicking since no money is involved, unlike Adsense.

Here's the direct quote from the Amazon Associates FAQ:

What is Amazon's policy for Associates placing orders for themselves?

You may not purchase products during sessions initiated through your own Associates links and will not receive referral fees for such orders. This includes orders for customers, orders on behalf of customers, and orders for products to be used by you, your friends, your relatives, or your associates in any manner.

I heard that the session only lasts for a day, so if someone bookmarks a product page from my link, but then buys the next day, i don't get credit for the sale?

I think people are misreading this.

IANAL, but I read it like this:

"You may not purchase products during sessions initiated through your own Associates links and will not receive referral fees for such orders."

Means: You cannot use your own affiliate links to buy from Amazon.

"This includes orders for customers, orders on behalf of customers, and orders for products to be used by you, your friends, your relatives, or your associates in any manner."

and this add to the first stement: You cannot buy things through your own affiliate links for customers for yourself, your friends or anyone you know or have every met!!!1!

    1) So I still think the overall answer is, you cannot buy anything for any reason through your own links.

    2) It does not mean someone else, including friends family, etc cannot use your links. How could you control this?

Is Amazon a pay per click program or just a sale-commission program???
    - a sale-commission program

Do you earn a comission when someone buys a product from your referral???
    - Yes, if you're a US affiliate you start out at a lousy 4%.

If I click a product on my own site, is that invalid click (is there such thing as invaid click in Amazon)???
    - No, but it's against Amazon's TOS to buy from your own referral link. Even friends and family can't use your link.

Do you get banned by amazon about invalid clicks???
    - Yes, if you get caught using black-hat methods.

Does anybody got banned by amazon associate???
    - Yes.

Can you customize your own banner sizes???
    - You can make your own, if that's what you mean.

Until how many banners are you allowed to show???
    - I haven't seen a set limit.

Don't worry. Amazon will remove this sale from your account before you receive your payout.

It is just a theory but there can be problem with cookies.

If you testing your affiliate links, your browser saves amazon tracking cookies.

So if you buy an amazon product even without affiliate link clicking, the sale can be assigned to you.

    Am i right?
