I have been wondering the same thing.

Anyone had any experience with promoting their astore via Adwords?

I didn't promote aStore via Adwords, but it do sold out - 3 items but less commission,

    With SEO.. Yeah, I swear

It can, but consume time, take too much tim like 1 half year,. so bad right?
I think it can be. but not that easy

By the way I think aStore is not proper and less trust
If people get it Amazon main website, thay might feel so much products waiting them to shop more than just aStore, anyway it's not mean that aStore cound't be sell, it can, but too hard, that's all my opinion

I'm just guessing here, since I am new to the aStore, but based on other experience (SEO/Marketing), I think if you were to use a PPC campaign , a stand alone aStore would not do well, but in conjunction with, or embedded into a website or blog, where there was more content and information....you would probably do better.

Personally, I think the aStore rocks, as an addition to an already existing site. There is nothing else like it. Completely configurable to your niche, and I think it gives off way more credibility than any other product link or banner program, but you need to do a little more work than to just make an aStore if you want to get the trust of readers to shop through you.

Arranging products in a way that that average reader/surfer would not know other wise, were available from Amazon, goes a long way in the perception that "You arranged this product offering just for them, with the help of Amazon", instead of, "I just took some stuff from Amazon to post up and see if anyone wants any."

So far I think that my aStore is an original, since I have not seen one like it embedded in any blog or site....even I didn't know how expansive the product line was in my niche' (Dance Music)...we will see if it makes any sales worth mentioning once I get the entire blog up to speed.

I am doing a little experiment tonight.

I have allocated a few USD just to see if its worth using Adwords to push traffic straight to my astore.

I am getting about 1 click every two minutes. CTR is around 2.5% Av CPC is around 50 cents US.

I aint expecting a miracle, but it will be interesting to see what my Amazon stats show tomorrow.

Cool to see people clicking ads a few hours before Christmas.

Things sort of tapered off a bit after 23.00 or so. I stopped the campaign at 01.00.

    Clicks 71
    Impressions 3,689
    CTR 1.92%
    Avg. CPC US$0.56

Average CPC is a bit higher than I would have liked, but that was courtesy of a few keywords i was bidding on that cost me around 70 cents to get to position 7 or so.

My *good* keywords were less than the average :)

I'll report on the Amazon stats sometime tomorrow. One sale would be a nice Christmas present :)

In Thailand(My Country), I used to see some1 in SEM forums can made over $1000 by 1 month! But he didn't tell us anything, however aStores can be the best if you manage them in the right way.

Well, providing the information on Amazon is up to date, I crashed and burned severely.

71 clicks on my ads resulted in 32 astore clicks and no sales. I think BonusOnline's comment above about 'trust' is relevant here. Plus of course, an astore can look pretty ordinary appearance-wise compared to other online shops.

I am not deterred though. I've got some good keyords for a wee niche that I am sure will convert over the Christmas period. I had previously allocated some more $$ to a campaign to run between now and the new year. Just gotta re-write the ads now to point directly to the products, rather than at the astore.

    Merry Christmas you guys :)

I've tested my aStore with adwords PPC for a few month,

    Clicks 33
    Impressions 2,319
    CTR 1.42%
    Avg. CPC US$0.06
    Avg Position 3.7

NO order and not index in any search engine also.

I see this question on forums everywhere, including the amazon associates forum, and yet no one is willing to post any information.

I commend you for at least putting out a trial run, and sharing it.
I suspect there are successes, but I have yet to see any tips on the subject.

    Heya...

I would like have another look at this in the new year.
For now, I'll think some more and sniff around for ideas
    and anectodotal stuff.

I have a good shopping domain - maybe its time to use it :)

Off topic, today I re-pointed my ads directly to their Amazon pages.
A certain bunch of keywords seem to be performing very well. This is very
encouraging. All stats are better than those from yesterday (see above).

While yesterday's experiment cost $$ with no $$ return, The time and money
spent was well worthwhile for the information it produced.

....as such is getting a decent adwords campaign. It does take a little experimenting to get it perfect.
I do believe adwords can be successful with just about any platform, if it is used properly, but I still have my doubts that a stand alone aStore can be successful.

I do plan on trying it myself in the new year.

But here is something strange...I notice quite a few link throughs from my new aStore, to my blog. Strange since I haven't promoted the aStore separately.
Maybe it's just people going in and back...but using the link at the bottom of the page, instead of the "back" button ?

can I use display url : "astore.amazon.com" at adwords?
if yes then I would be getting less competition than "www.amazon.com"

I've done some very small promotion of a couple amazon astores through a blog and independent links, and have driven some traffic to Amazon, but haven't yet had any success (sales). I have managed to see traffic coming back to my site from the link that Amazon allows you to put on the astore, though. Go figure.

Is it legal to advertise on adwords with it going direct to your affiliate link?
