I'm concerned that if I post my url on DP to say get free stumbles or diggs that google could potentially see that as being bad and knock down my serps or de-index me. So I was wondering is this a valid concern and would posting my website using a tinyurl link or just posting without the tag so my website isn't hyperlinked hide my site from googles bots.

yeah I saw your thread lol! what do you think about posting a url through tinyurl or without the hyperlink tags so it just shows up as normal text? It is a bit of a pita to do mass stumble exchange through PMs. I posted my url yesterday without the url tag and I dont see mine on the list guess thats a good sign.
I'm generally concerned about posting any links here... there had been many cases of click bombs from DP users, google reporting for nothing - porn site spam to bring down competition etc.
not really because i only done a 30 second spider, in that 30 seconds i found 5000 urls just inside the freebie section and 4500 were to somewhere on dp, and if you notice that the list i posted does not go past t because of the charecter limit. tiny url means nothing because its still forwarding on to another url, i just set my spider to go 2 links deep, if i went 3 links deep all your hard work at tiny will be wasted. you best going with pm's and checking out the profile and site your working with and only stumble with trustworty reps.
yeah I suppose PM is the way to go even though its a PITA, google or even stumbleupon could decide to lay the smackdown on all those sites anytime they want and ban them. But hey, lets face it its not exactly ethical so it shouldn't be that easy so the time and extra clicks it takes is the price we pay.
I won't post any links to my good sites here. I doubt google will just crawl a site and auto serp penalty the links.. I won't risk it.
a google employee or maybe 2 could list, check and penalize every site in the freebies stumble trade within 8 hours, its a small price for google to pay so i hope all you lot are now bricking your pants. lol

Why would google penalize you for having a link in a forum?? That would be stupid, you have noooo control over who posts your link anywhere. There might be a great article on your site and its posted to every forum from here to timbucktwo... I think some people are just too afraid of big brother google.... Next your gonna think they will penalize you for mentioning your site during Christmas dinner, because thats not the "google" way.... bah humbug....haha Merry Christmas all Oh and I always tinyurl only because I dont want people to search my site, and see me asking dumb questions...lol

the only penalty you can get is loosing toolbar PR or links from your site can lose "power"... otherwise people would post links of it's SERPs competitors and "kill" them this way
Hey guyz. The only thing you could be penalized or banned is BlackHat. All other are just ignored by Google. Its called Google Bowling - you could also use it to get down your competitors. As superrichguy says: "you have noooo control over who posts your link anywhere" doesnt matter where or by what reason.
