I've got a drink recipe website that gets 400 to 500 uniques a day. I'ts not a nice looking site, but it used to make approx $10 a day with adsense. Ever since adsense banned me (for drinks and shooters with provocative names), I've had a hard time getting any cash out of my site. I've tried adult friend finder, online wine store links, bidvertiser. Right now I have kegorater and a tshirthell link up. Any suggestions?
There are other contextual ad companies you can use instead of adsense (Yahoo! Publisher Network, Microsoft adCenter, Chitika, etc).
Personally I would try to get private advertisers. Maybe on a CPM basis or you could work out a flat rate per month
I live in Canada so I don't think I can sign up with Yahoo. I've tried Chitika and it never did that well. I've bought traffic from Microsoft but have never tried their ads (yet)..
I've never tried selling links or banners privately...not a bad idea if I can find some customers.... Maybe I'll list a couple of links here at DP. What do you suppose a text link above the fold might be worth to somebody? (PR3 / 400 to 500 uniques a day).
I think you did it quite well 500 UV with 10$ adsense earning. Consider quite high CTR I assume you having quality, unique content of your site. Try CPA program and monitor your Stat carefully. Certain Network just scrub for leads without giving you a reason Never Try, Never know! Good Luck!
