My channels are a mess do to lack or knowing exactly how to set them up. so now I can't break each site down by its earnings.

I am close to gettin to the $100 point and want to organize this better. Can I delete/deactivate my channels and start over without messing up my earnings, etc?

    1.
    100$/ hr / day or / m ?

    2.
as long as your channels are NOT targetable - you can delete without messing anything up

    3.
as soon as your channels have been made targetable - you would mess up your advertisers who have targeted ad campagnes
hence before setting up new adsense channels - think about, make a plan, know what you want to achieve with the channels. keep in mind that channels are for

    - advertisers to be targetable above all. targetable channels allow advertisers to better focus on precise sections (channels) of a website instead of advertising on entire site )

    - and secondary only for you as a feedback help to get more precise feedback.

    1. My first $100 lol

    2. How do I know if it's targetable?

    3. I don't care about keeping my stats. I just don't want to lose earned wages up to this point

you will NOT lose any wages. You will only lose the ability to tell which ad got clicked by the channel view.

Awesome. That's what I needed. Couple of them aren't live anymore. I want to start fresh and go from there.:)

Say I have 2 adsense ads on one page. I want these on separate channels correct?

You can delete all the channels, that won't affect your earnings anyway, also try the new feature.. 'Manage Ads' in adsense setup.. that'll help you for the new ones..

No problem - what i typicly do is this.

    site-adlocation-adsize

    e.g. mydentify-articlelistingleft-300x250
    e.g. mydentify-articlelistingright-300x250

if you just want the url tracked then do custom url :)

ads / channels are targetable if YOU make them targetable in your adsense channel

    >> AdSense Setup >> Channels
then edit your channels AFTER knowing what you need to do.
the channels once setup are used by targeting advertisers - if you change the channels/formats/placements for the targetable channels - then you lose your advertisers and waste their time.

i use ALL 200 channels - some for targeting, some just for MY use

    2 channels for 2 sites
= highest degree of achievable DE.optimization

i have one site and use all 200 channels and get many k$ / m in return - in feb 2007 my adsense jumped from ~2k$/m to ~3,4k$/m as a result of optimization
optimization without full use of channels is simply impossible
how else could you compare precise $ on ATF vs top left or top right or middle or bottom or any combination of placement with colors or formats ??

lots of $ is the result of lots of traffic
loots of traffic normally is the result of lots of WORK ...

    I LOVE to work !!
    because I LOVE my work
hence to create the content needed to get xxk uv/d is fun

me too i started small !! 1997 ONE single page with some 163 kB
and some 8000+ total HITS during 6 months ...

then there was a long perod of time i went on a work-retreat for 3 months - nothing but to work day and night - 3-5 content pages per day ...
that was the real beginning of work.

    hence

you too can get any number of traffic / $ if you want
the first many years I never even thought of using any kind of advertising, i was too busy producing the content i wanted to have as a basis to begin with.
