Any idea when these seasonal revenue fluctuations come to an end?
I have expenses (primarily hosting) that remain, despite a drop in traffic.

If this holds true, that would be terrific. :) I was expecting the earnings to remain at these lows until schools began again.

Yes, its still down and i seriously hope it recovers in new year. Again, we have more issues coming up in 1st quarter of 2008 which will surely tell us if we are going to face recession or not.

Sub prime loans will be maturing in 2008, thats the time banks/financial institution will be hit all over again. It also depends on how US economy recovers which is highly unlikely. am expecting another FED cut in jan maybe around 25 bps. However fed rate cut is not a solution to improve economy its just delaying the recession by some more time.

Whatever US govt is doing right now is not improving the condition just delaying it in a hope that some miracle might help us economy to recover.

I am going short of USD on my personal front and buying proxy currencies in asian market so am covering my a$$ if US dollars falls further from this level.

Currently USD is highly supported by china and japan.they cant let it fall coz they would loose millions of $$ export and possible revenue.

FYI. i work for a investment bank and personally trade/invest in over 5 stock markets.

Oh, so that's why gas is so high - and earners are so low?

Less advertisers this season = less earnings for us.
More advertisers this season = more earnings for us, right?
So, if the economy continues to suck, our earnings will continue to suck, right?

Yes. if inflation rises which eventually will. Oil prices will hit $100+ per barrel, that will set the trigger for recession. Adsense earnings should go down as well. Who will pay higher CPC when there is no market?

Well if recession hits in 2008, it wont be back to normal till 2009 unless asian economies support US well during crisis. I expect china and india to do better but again you can't predict. The asian market is overheated in real estate and stocks, i expecting major correction. China might do well, I have serious doubts over india since most of the stuff happening is from foreign investments, i expect freeze over foreign money dilution during recession.

My earnings have actually gone up this past week.

They dropped severely in the last two months, though. Now, my CPC is 50% higher than it's ever been.

Now, I just need to fix the CTR.

Yes, I have read the new about the possible recession in early 2008. I heard the news there is few job cuts in the banking sector too. Our company started precaution meature to tackle the recession, stopped recruiting more new joinees.

I guess all of us experienced a drop accross the board in earnings this month. I hope when January comes everything goes back to normal.
