And completely kill any credibility Google had left as a search engine. I wouldn't use them knowing they withhold results based on their own personal/business gain.
Not necessarily: So they could be making a million dollars a day with a search engine, Wiki, etc and hold on to that money for hosting, advertising, etc. A non-profit organization can still be a threat.
I think both of them are different in ways as one is search engine and the other completely different. I dont think it will be taken over
They can do it in a subtle way by replacing the search from Wiki to their own. Google is their search engine, they can do so easily and subtly enough. For eg instead of Wiki being Number 1, put it as Number 4 etc, this will affect Wiki extremely badly.
Given time, with current business model, still no way, too much traffic of Wiki is directly from Google. Unless they radically change their business model into a search engine, but in that case you will go heads on with Google's core competency.
Bored with google.Tried of their market strength.I mean why do we have to match their standards and their ways.I support WIKI
It Is Not Possible Right Now Or Some Time After In Future, Wikipedia Is Not A Search Engine Now, But Some News Says It Will Starts Early, But Google Also Doing Work To Upload Many Data As Wikepedia, So If Wikipedia Overtake Google, Sure It Takes Some Time Not Possible At Now........
Beta has started for the wiki search: http://www.techcrunch.com/2007/12/23/wikia-search-launches-private-beta-public-launch-january-7/
Wikipedia can never overtake Google in search engine market........Also both are different thing.Useless to compare both
