I have a site at devhunters.com in which I have been having horrible server problems! I have just switched to a dedicated server and I am still having different problems now with people being able to access, or people that are having spiratic problems getting a DB error. This is a Vbulletin forum script and it has been fine for 7 months and I switched servers and now I am having all of these problems! Can anyone please check www.devhunters.com and see if you are having a problem and try to help me pin point it?? I would be most greatful!!
Looks fine for me, what is the error msg you encountered? BTW that is a real neat and good looking forum you have!
Thanks alot for the compliment!! I would get some decent member response if i could get the thing running right!! I have a Full Dedicated server and I get this from the site now once in awhile but it doesnt take the site down or anything but sometimes you have to try it again if it happens and then its fine. This is the error email that I get: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) /home/my passowrd/public_html/includes/class_core.php on line 274 my password/ is just a replacememnt of the real name!!
The error looks like you're loosing out at peak usages when the mysql uses max memory/cpu but server tries to give fair shared resources. Whats your hardwraes specs? Also, post top and top -c command outputs.
That was exactly what the problem was!!! The server didn't have enough resource capability which it should have had!!!!! We just got everything running smooth now but we had to change to another server, but whatever!! Does it seem ok to you?? Thanks for the help from everyone on this!!!
i had that problem a few weeks back, my site is momomesh.com which catered around 15k traffic per day, and i keep having database sql errors, at first i tot it was my script but in the end i found out that my host had a lousy com, till i switched to a quad core host~ Wish i knew this earlier~
