it matters because someone attempting to become the leader of the most powerful nation on planet earth should have the intellect to understand something that they teach to 8th graders. it matters even more when you realize that most of them only disbelieve evolution and the vast evidence supporting it because it contradicts something written in an old book written by primitive goat herders.

The guy made it through medical school I believe he is of enough intellect. I don't think he is for or against it either, he wants overwhelming evidence to support it. Evolution takes millions of years and we've only been researching for this little time, we still need more research for hard evidence.

So what does this mean for evolution? it means that if we are related to the chimpanzee via a common ancestor we should share the same Endogenous Retrovirus DNA in the same locations, As well as Endogenous Retrovirus we acquired after the speciation. And we do. not once, not twice, but in thousands of locations in our genome. it is impossible for this to have happened unless the DNA was inserted at a time when the predecessor of the chimp and of humans was the same species. -------------- So what is your evidence for a designer?
Believing in evolution just because they teach it to 8th graders is irrational. There is more than a few controversial things they teach to 8th graders. Dogmas can and must be challenged. Just the fact that evolutionists rely on early indoctrination, fraud, and threats should make one suspicious
Thanks for the information Stox. That does not however disprove any sort of designer. It also does not prove that THE THEORY OF EVOLUTION is 100% correct it only proves that evolution does exist. As far as arguing against Darwin's theory is fun and all but since that theory has been replaced by a more comprehensive and less flawed theory of evolution its more interesting to read contemporary articles than 100 year old ones. Intelligent Design is also not the same as Biblical Creationism. All Creationism fits inside of ID but not all ID fits inside Creationism... I.E you don't have to be religious to believe there is a design to the known universe. For all I know it was the great pinball wizard of the 42nd dimension, but the evidence that their is a design (patterns in nature both great and small are abundant) and thus giving rise to the theory of a presupposed designer is there if you want to look.

this is what creationists often do, And it's dishonest. when one set of evidence is presented that proves evolution they claim it only proves evolution occurred in that specific example and that it doesn't prove evolution occurred across the board. Am i expected to to categorical provide examples of the evolutionary process in all of the 100,000,000 species of animal on the planet for it to be accepted? That is hardly a reasonable request. I never said i dont believe that animals dont evolve, on the contrary , if you had watched the video link i sent it would agree with you on this aspect but none of them believe that life arises out of random chaos. Are you talking about the origin of life? Because if you are you have demonstrated yet again that your ability to grasp evolution is tenuous at best. At no point does Darwin even attempt to explain the origin of life. Evolution only explains the origin of THE SPECIES. That is all it has even claimed to do. So the fact that evolutionary theory doesn't explain the origins of life is as irrelevant as maths not explaining how to spell words.

There is obviously a pattern and regularity of that pattern to existence. Physics, quantum and otherwise, as well as just about every field of empirical science is based on the idea of discerning these patterns of behavior and existence and using them to predict likely outcomes. To presuppose that that pattern is an intentional design is not a huge leap of logic. But it is not science either. Again someone asks Ron a dishonest question with loaded terms which has no bearing on his political stances at all and expects him to answer to suit popular opinion (which is ill-informed). Science does not disprove or even seek to disprove that their may be an intelligent creator, because it doesn't work from the top down. Its called empirical knowledge for a reason, it works from the evidence up and not from a faith in an ultimate outcome down.
The theory isn't a fact because by it's nature a theory CAN'T be a fact. But evolution it's self is a fact, The theory just explains it. Just like 2+2 isn't a fact, it's just a way of explaining 4. Imagine 2+2 as being the theory of evolution and 4 being the fact of evolution.
Anyway, back from the whole evolution crap, if you want a reason to question RP take a look at his view of pollution and global warming. It is probably the one thing I do not grasp from him although I heard a radio interview where he tried to defend his reasons I didn't really like them. Basically he wants to get rid of the EPA (which I like in theory but I think they are really corrupt) and use property laws to enforce pollution standards. The biggest problem I have with this is what good does it do me to sue after I have eaten heavy metal infested fish and gotten brain cancer or altzheimers from it. I'd rather someone stop that shit before it got to the fish.
In the same way the theory of gravity can be flawed. I wouldn't expect someone to deny that gravity exists based on this though.
Meh, I am a pessimist, I expect people to do all sorts of silly things. But yes the theory of gravity could be flawed, actually there are more than a few theories of gravity out there right now, something about how quantum gravity does not function in the same way as newtonian gravity says it should and that there has been a new theory put forth to correct that. Darwin tries to explain the origin of life but has many many doubts in his mind. How can u say it isnt irrelevant? On the contrary, i believe that god made life to evolve and he is exactly why life evolves. I have been saying this all along. The fact that intelligent design is believed by even the top microbiologist on earth show that even evolution couldnt happen by chance. This is exactly the point i was trying to make all along. darwin in his ignorance helped to prove the existence of god , not the other way around. Now again i say, whether ron paul believes this or not wont encroach on our civil liberties and i have provided sufficient doubt to show that believing in intelligent design doesnt make you dumb or unable to lead our country. Have you even read the origin of the species (don't answer, You obviously haven't)? At no point does Darwin propose a theory explaining the origin of life. Evolution isn't about the origin of life. it's about the origin of species. if you want to believe god put evolution in place you can, but it has nothing to do with Darwin and isn't even anything to do with intelligent design.
