They can't detect most of paid linking. Just the most blatant ones. Any well disguised link is impossible for Google algorithms do detect, even for humans. Patricia
mostly from cry baby rat webmasters who are jealous that they dont know the best tricks. there are a lot of rats out there.
spiders bots snitches and all sorts of ways the bottom line is they find out unless you keep it very secret and private.
i think this is a step toward google becoming evil. Think about it, where does google make the majority of its money? adwords... what are paid links? they are cheap and a way to avoid being middled by google. So google punishes people who dont buy links through them, bypassing googles own PAID LINK service. Your websites suffers as a result. this isn't about search results its about money. check out the link: query for number 1 result of myspace layouts (a very very competitive term im sure you all know) http://www.google.com/search?q=link:http://www.myspacemaster.net&hl=en&start=0&sa=N Wow look at those hundreds of paid links not a single legit linking site among them... its so obvious, most of the sites there dont even link to myspace master anymore because the link has obviously expired since the last PR update. what a bloody joke! why isn't this site banned and small fish are? MONEY is why. I bet if the site wasn't running adsense it'd be out of there in no time.
They can't detect all of them. For instance it's well-known that PayPerPost members got penalised (I was one of them) - but what isn't realised is that not all PayPerPost people got penalised. Google couldn't find some people. Those of us who got slapped usually had PayPerPost badges or Text-Link-Ads badges. Some of us labelled posts as "sponsored". Some people linked to PayPerPosts disclosure.org link. Others had the word "sponsor" on the box with the text-linked ads. Still others had articles on their blogs which referred to making money online and selling links. I also think that the Google guys trawl forums to find people. One PPP lady had thought her blog escaped the cull that got the rest of us. She was so excited that she posted this on the PPP forums, with her blog URL in her signature. She got slapped down two weeks later. I wouldn't be surprised if they trawled through this forum doing the same thing. If you have a blog that still has page rank, I would advise people to be very discreet. Don't have any badges. Don't use the word "sponsor". Don't put the URL in your signature on forums like this (I've just kept the damaged blogs in my signature, because they haven't anything to lose!). Don't link from your bad blogs to your good blogs with a helpful sign to Google saying "my other blogs". Keep your good blog on a completely separate domain/account. I've heard of people having ALL their blogs on their account down-graded, despte some of them not having any paid-links on them.
Dont you think they could detect all of these paid links? http://www.google.com/search?q=link:http://www.myspacemaster.net&hl=en&start=0&sa=N The majority are under 'sponsors', on totally unrelated websites... theres 10 pages of this bs. The site still ranks number 1 for myspace layouts. I just cant get over this... sites are penalized for the smallest of issues, but not this one!
Im sure they have something that spiders text-link-ads and penalizes all of those sites for some reason...
how can google hand out penalties for text adverts? advertising is not illegal last time i checked, how the hell do you think adsense works? advertisers pay for space so a text link is the most cost effective way of promotion for most sites. for google to be punishing sites for this is unethical and a step backwards.
Yes, I think selling adspace should not be penalised. It is like displaying adsense ads in a way apart from the fact that selling links got regular definite income.
Yeah, that does seem pretty illogical. As Matt Cutts said, you'll only be penalised for linking to a site that is bad, not by bad sites linking to you. So doesn't that mean you could create a site, pay to get it on myspacemaster, then change all the content once it's submitted, get your site banned by google...the effect being myspacemaster links to a real dodgy site? Hmm, Google is smarter than us all, afterall.
