I'm not sure quite what you're asking here, geckojohn. You can install Joomla! almost anywhere you like, be it a subdomain or a folder of an existing site. Obviously the best setup is a LAMP environment and be careful if you intend to host a Joomla! site on shared hosting - global settings might not be appropriate for a Joomla! site.
I use a Joomla template and I never installed Joomla. Just grabbed the code and images from the preview site : D I'm no coder so I'm sure my html sucks! The link to the site is in my signature btw
Joomla is the best CMS ever I heard some rumours that it will cost a lot of money if it becomes a commercial product
Joomla is the best... i am a big fan of joomla it has worked for me in all sorts of works and design...
Joomla totally rocks, I've been using it since it first split from Mambo and don't really use anything else other that vBulletin or static content for my sites, about 100 in total so far. Usually when I buy sites from DP I set about converting them to Joomla right away. Joomla is by far the best CMS in terms of SEO if you know what you're doing. I never use the standard Joomla templates, just code my own HTML/CSS stuff and stick the module codes in where I need to put stuff, you don't need most of the module positions that, say, solar flare comes with. One thing I hate seeing, which I noticed in at least one link above, is the standard Joomla favicon, 'tis the sign of a numptie who either can't be bothered changing it, or doesn't even know it's their because they use the numpty's Internet Explorer and never see favicons.
Yes, yes, yes - I love joomla. I use it for two of my sites - a social network and a company website. It has so many powerful features too.
I just started a site with Joomla for the first time. I was east to set up and the site turned out ok for the lack of programming knowledge I have. I was helping a friend with a missing pets site and it fit his budget and time frame to get it up and running (2 weeks).
I'm curious to see a serious Joomla! site with multi-page articles and good SEO... using {mospagebreak} to split an article into separate pages means that every page gets the exact same meta tags unless you know of a way around this?
