    I'm not one to defend G, that's for sure. But where does it say the site is being penalized? This statement can just as easily be interpreted as "you're not getting any credit for most of your links" although I will admit that the writer seems to be trying to put some fear in the mix.

    If I had received that response, I would have replied "I have no idea how the so-called low quality links got there. I have no control over who links to me. For all I know it was my competitor". I would then submit a reinclusion with exactly the same statement.

    Matt Cutts should be fired for wasting Google's time on fighting paid links.

    What a looser ...

    I experienced something with one of my sites that made me wonder if google is penalizing for some type of inlinks to a site?

    somehow, a bad spammer (the type that posts thousands of pure spam for all kinds of drugs and athletic shoes and stuff like that) made posts that had a bunch of URL's in it (randomly gathered from the net it seems) alongside there own links....

    ...well, my URL for one of my sites was in the list of links that the spambot was spamming with

    that site is losing indexing now, the site has a few thousand pages, yet only 300 were indexed a month ago and now only 140 are indexed, so I am losing indexing

    it could be a coincidence, but WHAT IF google is punishing my site just because a spammer has put my url in with his spam?

    if this is truly what is happening, all a black hat would have to do is fire up a spam bot and put his competitor's URL in it and spam a few thousand spam links around

    come on Google, assure us that this is not possible... for some reason my site has been ruined, I am now left wondering if that spammer is what ruined it
    (and if this is indeed possible, I am sure the black hats are firing up spam bots as we speak)

    Not quite the same, but when I was looking at incoming links to my site to see what had gone wrong last week I found some were from 'pay per post' type blogs - not where I had paid, I didn't know anything about them - but where links to my site had been added near the paid links to make the articles look more like genuine authority articles.

    So if links from those paid blogs are penalised (rather than just ignored, as they should be) my site picks up a penalty...

    I am not sure if this is OK to offer or not... but I have a expired domain that I got a while ago. and I am going to park it soon.. It is PR4 and has ranked #1 for a few art related keywords since Oct as far as I can tell (probably a lot longer than that) This site does not have many backlinks but they are strong and relevant.. To do with the arts in a state in the USA..
    If anybody would like to see if this is an "automated penalty process" by Goggle then let me know and I will post proof that I own the domain and offer it for annihilation. :eek:

    Cheers

    I could post a link to the spambot's spam that has been linking one of my sites that is getting killed by google, but the post is full of porn and porn links and viagra etc.

    Is it against the rules to post that link?

    the backlink is basically 50 or so links, which are a whole bunch of bad spam links mixed together with legit website links, and I wonder if us innocent legit websites are getting punished by google now for being mixed in with the spam, and the spam being posted on all kinds of .ru porn and other bad sites

    I hope google comes clean on this, because I put so much work into my site over the year and it is PR0 and being de-indexed.... if there is a policy to penalize sites based on inlinks, that is just so wrong and if I was black hat I would take all the spammers inlinks to my site and duplicate his spamming method with a bunch of competitors

    TELL YOU WHAT
    Why don't all those directory posters from abroad offer services now like
    "nuke your competition" posting.
    I never tend to use directory posting but tell you what... I would consider doing that. (not really as it would be mean but this is the way the industry has just turned)

    I think it has to do with your link profle. If it's balanced some poor or spammy links wouldn't make a difference. Put some links on a porn site to CNN and it's not going to make a difference.

    Do you really think people need your website?

    As an example: Do you really thing people ask Google for domain name related stuff instead of going straight to NamePros.com or dnForum.com ?

    ======================

    If your website has useful information, which is not copied from somewhere else, believe me, you don't need Google to bring visitors to your site.

    Any useful info can be monetized without any help from search engines.
    ===============

    If you don't agree, well, you probably have one of those clones, that are all over the place.

    ===============

    It is either about making useful website or jerk Google all the way up and down by buying and selling links. I chose jerking Google, because it is less time consuming and way more profitable, but c'mon, you got to have skills for that. You also have to close your eyes on whatever Google representatives say, because they don't want you to make money! :)

    James, that is a generous offer but I would advise that you don't do it. I make a good buck with parked domains, and it is quite possible your domain will still rank high after it is parked. That's long term revenue you could lose by subjecting it to such a test.

    So, what google is saying is...

    Google can sell advrt links on google search page (offcourse they may be using 'no follow'), but webmasters can't (offcourse without 'No follow').

    They don't like PR market and are pushing the 'No follow' standard which Yahoo and Microsoft don't recognize.

    From all the previous posts and the post in this thread suggest that google search engine algorithm is deeply dependent on 'Page Rank'. If many many websmaters try to sell their Page Rank to websites which are unrelated, then google search can worse and get to the levels of Yahoo or Msn.

    I am begining to believe that google search engine can be screwed by massive Page Rank market and that is what google is trying prevent.

    Adapt and overcome. Every six months or so G come up withsomething like this. I am kicking myself a little not to have had more back up plans. Will not make that mistake again! The only thing that pisses me off is not showing up for my own website name. I had a simlair domain name mapped to the one affected and sure enough when the G bomb dropped, my mapped domain shot up and and came up through serps . Not now though, it too has dropped. The little G buggers are reading this thread pissing themselves no doubt.

    I find this disappointing. I learn alot from this forum as would most people here. To think that some people here would report other webmasters on this forum who start beating them in the serps is showing no respect to the community. If this webmaster did not like your methods, why don't they post there opinions in response to your questions to convince you to adopt different methods.

    Charlee22, could you post a link to the original thread you started this post with?

    I did a search for it by putting double quotes around the part you cited but I could not find anything on it.

    Thanks.

    This is indeed bad news - so long with reciprocal link exchange with any site.
