Guys we hear you with your issues you are having in the BST section and we have been doing a ton of discussion figuring out what the best course of action is.

All the Mods and Admins agree there are issues with the BST section. We also all agree it is a important section to the Digital Point Forums and not one that should be thrown away.

So trust that the suggestions you are bringing up are not falling on deaf ears.

There is a ton ton ton of work that comes with being a moderator here (and I am a slacker for the most part). Shannon, Mary, Katy, Sarah, Chicago all work very hard. Even rob works hard sometimes =P. Mix that in with the current crazy holiday schedules of everyone and changes are just not going to happen overnight. But we do hear you.

I suggest the I Am Legend method of cleaning up the BST forum.

Inject the forum with a "cure", and 90% of the members will be eradicated right away.

Then, except for 1% of the members who are pure and immune, the rest of the scammers will turn into mindless flesh-craving mutants who won't be able to post...

I heard from the other mods that you were a bit of a slacker. :p

It is good to hear and I hope that some changes for the better can be made. For the most part the members are all decent; however, the last few months, the forum seems to have a welcome scammer sign posted somewhere. It would be nice to restore some dignity back to DP.

You forgot to mention the other half of Mary. ;)

How about hiding the BST forum from users with less than 100 posts?

separate sections for low priced items and freebies.... both without iTrader.

it is difficult to trade/buy/sell low priced items in freebies section which is full of stumble and digg requests.

I think some things such as.

    Over 100 posts
    Over 2 months membership

Then sections for under $50 dollars and over $50 dollars.

The freebies section in my opinion should be 100 % free.

I really like the over and under 50 idea as well as the freebie being FREE! :)

I feel the 100 posts rule would be quite a deterrent. I have no opinion on that as it would not affect me too much, except for noticing an increase in spammage throughout the rest of the forum while the new members are trying to achieve their xxx post goal

Since when did post counts mean something? If somebody wants 100 posts, they can get 100 posts. Post counts mean a b s o l u t e l y n o t h i n g. For some unknown reason, people assume high post counts mean something...The entire DP is full of worthless posts for this same reason!!

If you look at the BST section, the people who get scammed often are the new members. Being a new guy..you have to send everything first, you have to risk everything and you dont get nothing..Then the old "trusted member" leaves a negative itrader and calls you scammer. Who is everybody going to believe? The guy with 1000 posts.. ofcourse.. 1000 posts.. surely.. trustworthy!!

I see lot of old members..joined 2004, 2005 posting in this section about BST.. "ohh what all cheap stuff in BST... not upto my standard... too noobish stuff..ewww that.. eww this" There was a time when you were a worthless nobody too. You had to get where you are.. took you years....and now you are ashamed cause new members are not upto your level??? pure arrogance. some big shots...

Reading posts in this section..it seems like there are a few members who talk like they own DP or something..that they want DP to work for them..to fit their needs..to fit their standard..well guess what, there are other people in this forum...whole 42,700 of them.

    Enjoy your Xmas egoistic bigshots!!

@ Avants.. you're just saying that because you don't have 100 posts lol.

So I guess we should just give out sig links from 0 posts too...

paid you say? you can pay I have no money .. unless listings cost money or revenue sharing gets disabled..

this site prolly pulls like 1000's a month. I don't even use revenue sharing and I can't imagine it making that much profit for individual users..

I said PAID MODS ....as in "paid staff"

Like pay people to manage this place.....thats what big companies usually do......

This place has a member base of 100k.....I am surprised this has not been done yet.....wonder what were waiting for.....

    Quarter million members maybe?

Not bashing anyone, It just seems like 8 / 10 people manging 100k people in ANY situation would lead to crazyness.......don't you think?

Its one giant mob.........of people......small city, small village, small town...

Either way - dp needs a larger staff for sure...

Oh and yea, the member base grows by the thousands a week it seems lately .....
