I have a couple webmaster blogs with decent traffic. And the feed machine is feedburner. My question is how do i make the traffic get subscribed to my blog through the feedburner mailer? Are there any tricky or any genuine ways? Let me know, i would try out any good ones for my blog. One of the blog is around 7 months old but still has only 11 subscribers and no traffic from feedburner. So want to check out the ways to increase the number of subscribers!
Offer incentives for subscribing to your feed, like cash or prize giveaways. Also, remember to ask users to subscribe at the end of every post/page!
Maybe most if not practically all of your readers don't need your feed because they come back on a regualr basis anyway??? Think...what is the purpose of a feed? Now translate that in your site so your readers can connect to it, thus improving your odds in getting them to sign up. Put it underneath the link. And don't use the initials "RSS." People don't know what in the hell that means. Use words people can understand. Personally, I'm not a big fan of feeds. If they don't come back to a site on their own, they won't read or they will stop reading the feed sent to them after awhile. It's just one of those overrated things. But, that's just my opinion. Work on having one hell of a kick ass site, so they WILL come back on their own. And if you don't have a rockin' site, you think a feed is going to improve readership? Have them save it to their favorites, so they won't forget you.
Best way I think is to throw a competition, like "Subscribe to our email feed to be in with a chance to win a [insert prize here]".
This is a trick that I have seen before and it really worked. You can manipulate the feedburner subscribers counter. You can set the number of subscribers to e.g. 2413. When people see this, they think many people are interested in your blog and following it. Then there is a bigger chance that they'll subscribe too. I don't know how you can exactly manipulate the counter, but I'm sure you can quickly find it with Google . Good luck!
1. Offering some sort of incentives for to my subscribers. 2. Open some competition for people to subscribe 3. Manipulating feedburner subscriber count so that people feel the blog is popular and they subscribe Thanks much.. would try a couple in these.
As much of a cliche it may be, grademoney is absolutely right. If you're after a way to increase subscribers, I think focusing extra hard on your content would get your main site traffic up. From then on, if you're really determined about it, I think you should offer some sort of incentive. Good luck.
