So my problem is.. I need to get an idea of what should or should not be included in a SEO Quote or Proposal.. As im doing quiet some work, and locally the word is getting around.. I really have to get these things sorted.. What do you guys suggest? any help is muchly appreciated
I do things as a subscription service with results based pay, however you have to be UTRA clear about the conditions before you start, ie increasing in SERPS for certain keyword combo's from a certain google website, or total backlink yield etc. otherwise things can get messy! Its not worth doing things as a one off payment, as SEO is an ongoing service and not a one time thing, so I would suggest charging 15% of what you would normally, but make the amount monthly....
So do you basically describe what services your going to do.. and then charge say.. $XXX per month...
nope, I never disclose the actual services, just define the end result well, ie, an increase to top 10 position for a keyword combo, or add 10,000 backlinks etc.....
In the SEO business you have to be very clear about your words...I personally feel that ou have to come up with a write up on what you need and what you expect and what you going to offer....this is just simple...but make sure...you are 100% clear in what you do
absolutley, very good advice here. write out a plan of action, that you can complete 100% - look at how it could be construed differently, re-write it. read it again, make sure that its totally fool-proof, then check it again. then present it to your client!!
I ALWAYS DISCLOSE ACTUAL SERVICES. I also send the client the list of links I've built so they can confirm placement as well as the website stats. Also, make sure to have a lawyer look at your terms of services and your service order contract template. Be sure to put everything down on paper then get their signature. On pricing, while I won't disclose everything, it's usually 15-30% over cost (including labor).
do you define the services PRE the job? I do provide the services rendered at reporting after the period of invoice, but NEVER before..... interested how others do it now!
I provide services with the invoice. All my services are pre-paid. So I disclose services before they are actually done.
