I love talking to people that make comments like these... Be honest, how much of the world have you traveled? Have you seen, firsthand, the anger and envy aimed towards the US?

- Americans are buying poisoned goods, think about all the recent toy recalls

This is another part of the problem. The article, While posted for the wrong reasons, Highlights some valid reasons why the middle east generally dislike america. And what do americans do? bury their heads in the sand and act as if they are the victims.

 

I agree with cupid, the majority of America is quite ignorant. Nobody wants to educate themselves or ever look at the bigger picture, they just want to keep consuming and consuming and eventually pass on their DNA.


I've never been to other countries so I won't speculate how we compare, but i know we have our fair share of undisciplined, uneducated a**holes that make for a very good reason for other countries to hate us.

 

Here are the education statistics for most countries. We are 14 out of 110.

 

"school life expectancy" means shit.

that is really a poor gauge of how educated your citizens are. 95% of my current knowledge has not come from a school and never will. i know plenty of unintelligent, ignorant clowns at my "level of education". i seriously cannot stand when people think that because you continue on to college or whatnot you are a smarter person. guess what, you can be as book smart as you want where will that get you in life? how are you gonna stand out among all the other people with applications that have done all the same shit as you?

my sister has a masters degree in psychology and she's JOBLESS. has been for a year after she got it! how's she supporting herself? she gets it off of her husband who is an electrician who never went to college. and yes, he too is a pretty smart man.

i bet you if you cut all this "we need to educate our children!" horse sh!t our politicians spew, we'd have a lot more educated children. you have to WANT to learn, it can't be forced. and you should know, when things become mandatory you have a LOT less desire to do them.

 

OK. Here is average IQ's. Wasn't trying to say that college=intelligence. (Just trying to find guage to judge).

Can't open it, school computer with security settings. IQ tests are based on timed reactions, it probably has to do more so with how fast neurons are firing in your brain than how intelligent you are. but you could go dictionary.com on me for the word intelligence.

ignorance is really the issue i'm addressing.. and last i checked there is no ignorance test. i believe having an open-mind and knowledge go hand in hand. most people are busy watching mtv, banging hookers, getting banged or playing WoW rather than trying to understand the point of their life. the first step to partial enlightenment is to realize you are a consumer.

when you analyze that fact, you can learn so much and beat others in the process.
