I have learned many tips to get more traffic but as far as I know, SEO is the only way to get good CTR. I got good amount of traffic from stumbleupon and reddit but it seems most of them never clicked my ads. I also have traffic from other sites but still, my earning only came from SEs. So SEO is the only way for adsense publisher?
SEO is good because it attracts targeted traffic. Targeted traffic is what you want since they will be more interested in your content + ads.
ah, but I mean like as in the technical aspect. Meta tag sure won't affect CTR, neither will pagerank.
SEO has nothing to do with the ctr. Except if your so broad minded that you think, SEO = Traffic = CTR
jeez..two people didn't get what i mean. Of course i'm not a stupid boy who thinks SEO=CTR. What I mean is, we can't get high CTR if we never practiced SEO, right? My traffic source usually is: 1. Social bookmarking 2. Video 3. Search engine Now I see that people from social bookmarking and video almost never clicked my ads although it seems they like my sites. I have read many people who think social bookmarking and youtube marketing could increase their traffic. Yes, they are right. I even think traffic from search engines are not as many as SB and videos. However, I think my CTR is low because of this reason.
SEO can just rank u up in search engine results , nice ad placement will ensure u ghet good clicks dont xcept good ctr on a banner placed at bottom of page i also have experienced , no clicks from STumble upon or social bookmarking sites , the xplantion suggested for this is that they are failry advanced users which know what adds are nd have become blind to your adds
OK, so it seems if we want to monetize our sites through adsense, the only way to get most income is focus on SEO. Because from my point of view, SB can increase traffic but they never clicked any ads.
SEO is a way to got quality traffic, and if you want ti increase your CTR thats depend on your ads implementation
In my opinion, SEO is the best way to get targeted traffic... which in turn, people who would be interested in clicking on your ads. It, however, is NOT the only way to get most income. If someone on a dog forum posts a link to your dog site on a related thread and people click on the link, you are getting targeted traffic. SEO is only a part of the whole game. If you want your website to be more "known" you should continue SEO, social bookmarking, building links, updating content, etc. It's just a piece to a bigger puzzle. I LOVE SE traffic... so that's where I focus on the most.
CTR is more about where you placing your ads and the content of the page... as well as the relevance of the content to the ads...
SEO brings targeted traffic to your blog, that converts to adsense clicks, I actually believe that search engine traffic is one of the best kind of organic traffic you can find.
When my site (number 1 in google fo rmy choice of keyword) got hacked. My SE traffic decreased dramatically but not only that, it lead to google posting a warning that this site might harm your computer. So it discourages a lot of people from visiting my site through google searches. The incident resulted to a dramatic drop in clicks and of course earnings. I still have my backlinks even from a reputable online news site in my country. Yet, I believe SE traffic have more chances of giving you clicks since people coming there are looking for a solution or info about something.
