Alright so this is another pligg site but the specific niche market I'm trying to get is Movie lovers! I have an rss feed that I can use from Block Buster that allows me to get new movies if submissions from registered users are low!

I would like to know your thoughts on the domain name as it is a little long but I think targeted and to the point!

    http://www.flickvotes.com/

Well please go have a look at the site I'm still configuring it so I have to change names and titles of things including some standard images but overall the site is up and running! Please if you see anything that still needs changing name it here :)

    :)

Cheers and very excited to hear what you think :)

    Hi BBrian017

I had a look at your site tonight. Good to see that the site it is geared to a specific niche market. My thoughts are that their are quite a number of people that would be interested in this.

    My Review

    Logo & Header
I know that you just started out the site in the last while and you are still working on it.... but I think you seriously need to work on the logo

The slogan under the header could be reduced to 'Vote For Your Favorite Movies'

Not to keen on the olive green for a movie site... will it change?

    Login Page
I noticed that on the Login page.... while viewing in Internet Explorer... the text 'Login' disappears on its own button. See image below:

I would also recommend adding captcha to the login and register pages.... for security purposes.

    Live Page
The live page seemed to have a few problems. In FireFox and Internet Explorer... the listing of movies didn't appear at all.

This image was taken from Internet Explorer:

You will also notice that some buttons go missing in Internet Explorer.

In Opera.... all the movies listed.

    Tag Cloud Page
On the tag cloud page... the menu buttons also disappear while using Internet Explorer.

    Navigation
All links seemed to work properly in FireFox, Internet Explorer and Opera. I would recommend that you add some common links.... which are: About and Contact.

    Conclusion
Overall... its a site with a good idea... it does need work... and I do hope the colors of the site would change.

This review was done with 3 browsers, FireFox 2.0.0.9, Internet Explorer 6.02 and Opera 9.24, on Windows XP SP2.

    I do hope this helps.
    Respectfully,
    Lhlalyam

Great advice all around! Thanks for taking the time to seriously help me create an organized and working website. Your comments are all well spoken and each one will be taken into consideration. I would like to start off by answering your question regarding the theme.

As of right now this theme is 100% temporary and will be replaced by a custom, heavily modified and functional template. I'm also looking for a new feed system that will have pictures of the movies and not the blockbuster website. This was just an easy and available way to fill the site with new movie releases. Any suggestions regarding a decent feed please don't hesitate to mention it here. Only for Flicks of course.

Pligg is coming along and I'm just getting familiar with the system so it will take a while before I can' fix most the issues you stated. The most I can do is keep up to date on the forums and try to get as much support from pligg forums as possible.

Thanks for the detailed review and you have received some well deserved rep!

I will also be mentioning these issues to pligg but I will have to be careful how I post the thread because with all these issues I might come off arrogant or something.

EDIT: Regarding the captcha it comes after you select the create user button you will have to enter the numbers it displays :)

    Hi BBrian017.

Glad to hear you liked the feedback. In regards to the Movie Review Script... I'm not to sure on that one.... I would only guess that the current one could use some tweaking... in order for it to work properly...

I'm looking forward to your site updates!
    Respectfully,
    Lhlalyam

I love the concept, and I'm sure it will catch on. The pop up ads were very bothersome. For some reason the site was very slow. I have a broadband connection and usually sites are very fast. I love movies and love the concept and hope to be a repeat visitor....

Are you the same Lhlalyam from The Admin Zone?

Thanks I plan to improve the site! I'm just so darn busy with blogengage and it's probably slow because I run all my websites, like 9 from a shared server for 8 dollars a month LOL, Also yes the ads are retarded it's almost funny, but I know it's not. That will change!
