I am new to SEO, and need some advice. I made my website, and now I need to promote it. I am going to pay for the ppc and such but what about SEO. I have seen some software out there that submits to a bunch of sites is this a good option?

I am basically asking for help from square 1 on SEO and link building. Any help given will be greatly appreciated!

Stay away from submission software. submissions are a thing of the past.

    SEO in a nut shell

    1) Keyword research
    2) Assign 4 keywords per page
    3) Write meta tags using keywords (on every page)
    4) match keywords in page content
    5) use H1 tags with main keywords in it (matching title tags)
    6) make sure all outbout links have anchor text (links going to inner pages)
    7) look into off page optimization
    i) Link building
    a) Dmoz.org
    b) Business.com
    c) Other

    Wait.....SEO takes time

The best way for submission is Manual submission. So, try to submit your website manually in search engines and directories.

SEO? Submit different articles to each article directory and exchange links. Sometimes you must create 2-3 sites so you can manage your links easier.

First, read google's "webmaster guidelines". Simply search for "webmaster guidelines" in google.

Read that first so you know what NOT to do.

    Hey lapowerlifter242:)

I would'nt use the submission software. It's a better idea to manually submit your site to directories and other related websites. Just do a search for sites Related to yours. For example, if you have a dog site, find sites that are about dogs aswell.

Also, if your going to do ppc, research the topic and study it. You need to know how it works.

    Good luck

    @thread opener,

SEO aint just about building links - like i've been stating everywhere - that is a mis-conception - First worry about your keywords, then worry about content and then worry about seo friendly design - And THEN worry about building links.

If you need some free seo consultation, shoot me a pm with your chat id and i'd be glad to help.

Any type of promotion will do, SEO is just targetting search engine keywords by meta keyword management, keywords on title, keywords on content, and keywords every where in the site as long as you do not spam. Update your content and build links using your targetted keyword. :D

Ok, you've made your site and now you want to SEO it? There's the problem right there. SEO should begin before a single word or line of code is even written. Seriously, I'm not kidding.

I strongly suggest you read these:

Ok, I have submitted my site by hand to the major search engines, and now I am ready to start "bum" marketing it. What steps would you take. I have been reading alot of material and see a lot of stuff to do. Right now I just want to do whatever I can for free, and reuse any money I make to pay for advertising.

So far I am going to do the following:
    1) write articles
    2) free online classifieds
    3) put my URL whereever I can.

Write articles for your website and for each article directory, link exchanges (article exchange is better but you need good PR to do these with other good websites), and don't forget onpage optimization

cyber-world, that'll do two things and two things only - and Jack left town. Besides, most directories are worthless anyway and are good for only getting weak links anyway. Focus on writing quality, relevant, and unique content that people will want to link to instead.
