WOW! Very nice entries everyone. jokerlilia, I can not see your deisgn proposals for some reason. Can you post them again? scorpionagency, great job! I really like your 2nd concept and applaud your creativity in including the "semper fidelis"-type slogan as it fits with the values that I am trying to communicate with potential clients. I would agree with tmash though that they should either be in Latin or English though, especially since your logo figure appears to be based on Paul Revere who was an American patriot. I'm not sure though if it should be omitted altogether and the URL used in its stead though (I'll have to think about that some more). Other suggestions for improvement would be to use a font that is less rounded with more of a drop in the "M" and more "formal" in general. Overall though, a great job! By the way, I would be interested in seeing your Web 2.0 version. CrimeProductions, thank you for your design. I like the font used for "Massachusetts Mortgage Broker" as it evokes the kind of scripting used on the Declaration of Independence which is apropos for Massachusetts as a lot of the historical events leading to the American Revolution started here, but at the same time, I'm not sure if it works for a "professional" logo to be used for branding. I however am not a fan of the font used for the URL. Overall I find the concept a little too simple, but I certainly appreciate your effort. Gotta go for now, more comments on the other logos submitted to follow soon... Thanks again for everyone's time and effort! There certainly are a lot of talented designers in this forum!!!
Here's a few text revisions to give you more of an idea Here's a few Fonts I kinda liked & felt had a professional appeal, Any of these jump out at you?
Nice entry, mac_crazy. Simple and clean, but professional. The only concern I have about it is that the town crier logo looks very familiar to another company's logo, but I can not place it. Thank you for your proposal.
Great design, coolwanz. Very clean and fresh. Nice! I will say though that after seeing some of other entries that I am leaning more towards an image of a minuteman or Paul Revere's ride as I personally think these images communicate the values of integrity, honesty and trust more since they are more authorative figures. In any event, thank you very much for your design. It's great!
I appreciate your entry, yugo, but it unfortunately does not incorporate anything that I posted above. Please go back and read my previous posts to learn what I am looking for.
Very nice, xpressions! I like it a lot, but as I wrote to coolwanz, I think I am now leaning more towards the minuteman or Paul Revere's ride type of logo. Great job though...it's going to be hard to decide which one to pick!
Thank you for all the different iterations of your proposal, scorpionagency. They look great! In terms of the font I like best, I would have to say ImperatorSmallCaps. If you happen to have the time, I would be interested to see your same design but with a minuteman based on the Concord minuteman which is the image used on the back of the quarter for Massachusetts (see below). Thanks again for all of your work!
Nice entry, tmash. I like it! As I said above, it's going to be hard to choose the winning entry. Have a great day!
Thanks for the feedback. Would you prefer that I try another version without the town crier? That is to say, is this entry still in the running, or are you not considering it because it's too close to another logo? I'm not sure which logo you're referring to, but I can assure you, mine is from an original photo that I vectorized for this logo. See below:
Requested sample revision using ImperatorSmallCaps Font type & presented in a few color variations to give a feel for options
Hi mac_crazy. I like your creativity with the town crier image and was not suggesting that you ripped it off from another company. I just seem to have in the back of mind having seen a similar type logo. If you are so inclined, I'd love to see another version based on a minuteman or Paul Revere's ride although it's not because of your logo being similar to another company's. It's more that I don't think a town crier communicates the values I'm looking for and the minuteman and Paul Revere's ride images now seem more of the direction that I am heading. I am however still open to creative entries like yours as they could sway my mind if they end up being a better fit with the values I am trying to get across.
Very nice, scorpionagency! Thanks!!! I'm not sure whether I like Paul Revere on horseback better or the minuteman. Both look great as do a lot of the other entries here!
