So, I have done SEO work in the past.. I now have been asked by a family friend to do some SEO work for a hotel website
    www.inncairns.com.au

It is a FLASH page.. But already he has made up his mind that hes got a replicate of the FLASH page in ASP/HTML and wants an introduction page before the 2, letting the user select FLASH or HTML..

Any advice you guys can give me on how to tackle this one?

The first page should not be flash so you can get the keywords on site. Make sure to do a good description of the hotel on first page and what it offers. Use keywords in description and do normal Seo.

The first page is definitely not going to be flash :p

Thanks.. thats along the lines of what I wanted to do.

However.. i read about <noembed> tags... can they be any description of the flash page?

I heard you can embed keywords using external XML file. You can search online, I don't have first-hand experience.

Don't make 2 separate pages. Put everything on 1 page and then use the SWFObject method to detect and display flash. Then put the HTML version of the page in the "flashcontent" div on that same page. This allows users to see the flash while spiders and non-flash enabled users to see the HTML version of the site.
