How long does it take to get listed on DMOZ averagely? Is there any way to guarantee it?

DMOZ has gone from bad to worst with their submission processing
my experience is that it takes up to a year or longer BUT more likely never get processed if that particular sub-section needs an editor

Don't count on getting accepted to DMOZ. The good news is that it is not as important as it used to be.

They list very few sites now seems like no one is there or checks submissions.

It depends if you paid the editor to let your site be included in DMOZ directory...

probably will take lifetime. To make things worst many top search engines use it. Otherwise we could care less.

Took me 3 years. I think the editor(s) of my category worked for the competition.

Eventually I got fed up when I saw a new site (that was breaching some of their codes for listing) was listed.

I blogged and digged about the situation and someone in DMOZ must have seen it cause 2 days later VOILA! I was listed in DMOZ and the entire category cleaned (after 3 years!).

    Read my post about http://costadelsolrealestate.blogspot.com.

My advice to you is if you are totally convinced that your site is legit and should be listed by DMOZ start complaining about it everywhere you can. Eventually you will piss someone who is an editor off and they might look into it.

first, if you run a MFA sites - your site won't be included. If you run a authority site you can be included in plus/minus 1-2 months or so it all depends how lucky you are and which category you are submitting your site.

what so different about DMOZ, that everyone want their site to be listed in it so bad?
what's wrong with other free directories?

Less guarantee that you will be listed in DMOZ...some webmasters claim that it took several months before they got listed. But in my experience, as far as I remember it's almost 7 months when i submitted my site and until now there is now result...
