it's still a WIP, but it's getting there, what do you guys think so far? It works for any resolution above 800x600 (there's simply too much to fit in that size) works in FF, Opera, IE7... included a script to prevent anyone using IE6 or lower from viewing the page, because of all the transparencies... and because i hate that f-ing browser... I think it could be classified as a pure CSS layout, not sure though :S when finished it will have a splash (I know how much everyone hates them but i need to point out a few things before people enter) and i will have coded up the other 4 pages, just thought i'd get your opinions so far. Looks a nice design for a corporate site. The navigation tabs need to go slighly up as they clash with the content below. One more point. Even though IE may not be a standards compliant browser majority of the people still use them. so it would be better if you could make a compliant version for them .
i'm not very good at writing big paragraphs, so this way i can make it look full with little actual text It works with IE7, it's IE6 it cannot work with, because of the transparent PNGs, so i thought, rather then let them see the ugliness of it without transparency, i'd help introduce them to better browsers and what's clashing? if you mean they're cut off, it's meant to be like that.
i like it, simple and clean.. for a portfolio it suit you well... dont ever use heavy graphic on the layout, else it will shrink your work/portfolio/design.. so yours is well done can you move the menu button text upper a lil bit? content is king? thats a portfolio right? not a blog design is king
I don't think it's such a good idea to block IE6 like that, since much people still use it. Especially since there are ways do make the transparent images to work in IE6 with a little Javascript.
could you show me how and i won't need to block IE6? still hate the useless peice of sh*t browser though.
Hey. Your nav is behind the content in firefox 3, I think you have have a collapsed margin. I'm confused as to the problems with IE6, no one should be using it anymore, it's been replaced, it was buggy and slow at best. I don't have IE6 so i can't help but if you need a hand with getting it working let me know, I see that the layout is just a few lines of xhtml so it shouldn't be very tricky.
If you want to push yourself as a web developer, you need to cater for everyone. IE6 included. I wouldn't hire a developer whose own site looked rubbish in any browser. It looks unprofessional. I browse DP mainly when I am at work, and we are stuck with IE6, so you're site is a bit dodge to me. A lot of compaines use IE6 as do schools, colleges and universities...
