I am not done, but I would love for you to tell me what I can add/change to make it to your satisfaction. I will work on it a bit more tomorrow.

So far i like this the most.

I need the website to look very professional and be able to represent a non profit organization to be an authority on this subject.

    Kristi,

thanks for the design. Here are some changes I would like to see on it though:

1- Change the text to "Police Harassment" instead of "Police Brutality"

2- The header is too tall.

3- The website will be coded to be fluid width. I can't make that header fluid. Give me something on the sides that would allow me to do that.

4- Can you give me a footer in it too? A simple graphic would be fine.

5- The left menu doesn't appeal to me much. Can you give me an alternative?

Sorry for all the requests. I'm just trying to get a great website up. :)

    Thank you again

    Hey,

Thanks for the design. but your design has a cartoon feel to it. I need something more professional (and real - but not violent and graphic)

how's this? as far as the footer, do you mean you want something specific inside of it? I had a small footer already.

    Yes, something inside the footer.

Look at my other websites: 1 - 2.

Your design looks too boxy (for lack of better terms). I dont know, I like the idea behind the header (which is the main point of your design), but the rest of it doesn't sink in as well.

I'm usually all about the curves, but felt this one should be somewhat squared. I'm sure i'll have a moment to come up with somethin else before jan 1.

    Web893,

You should consider adding these things to your original post. Correct me if I'm wrong, it sounds like you are pretty much are looking for a simple, clean, business oriented layout that is community friendly, (at least from what you've said so far).

Also, you said it has to have something to do with police harassment. Is this true or do you mean it just needs something POLICE related. If you're just looking for a photograph of a cop or a cop car or something in the header with a basic business/community layout, that's different than something specifically harassment related. The harassment aspect would imply negativity, maybe dark and graphic, something that has to do with the nature of bad cops. Not so much a light, uplifting, clean layout that looks good from a business perspective. Just trying to figure out what you're actually looking for... it's harder going into a situation blind, ya know.

    Thanks!

@ScorpionAgency - Just a quick heads up for you mate, you are never expected to slice and code a layout until you are selected as the winner of the contest. No contest holder would want to waste anybody's time.

I will try to submit an entry if I have time tonight!

    Davey.

@ScorpionAgency - Also, as he said in the original post, he wanted this layout to be setup for 100% width coding, (stretches to edges of browser), and yours isn't. It should be a fairly easy fix, but just thought I'd mention that.

Here is an updated version of mine:

Not quite done yet. Sorry about the unfinished previews, but have to go to work and figured I'd post it up to try and get some feedback. Suggestions encouraged! What do you not like, and why. Thanks!

You have good points. I can't edit the first post anymore. (it doesn't allow me).

Also, you are right about what I want. I need something more business oriented but user friendly and clean and professional.

I don't want violent pictures of cops on top. I believe that makes the website not look so legitimate and more of a cop-hating website which is not what i intend for it.

I don't know what can be used in the header to both avoid the dark colors (which I dont want) and the violent pictures, and the cartoons, and at the same time show that the website is about police harassment. I guess that's why I'm having a contest instead of just buying a stock photo and putting it on top.

Also, guys, I don't need it to be coded, so don't bother yourself. I will either code it myself later, or find someone (possibly yourself) to code it. But until your design is chosen winner don't code (don't wana see you wasting your time).

    Thanks

Perhaps it was answered but i saw question about 100% width, if i am not mistaking this is in reference to the ability to chang sizes with different browser resolutions. for example if you resize the browser right now, you will notice the DP content is all rearranged to still fit. Again i did not read the entire thread so it may have been answered.

Yes, you are right. Again, I dont want you to code it, just to design the header such that it can be coded for a fluid (100% width) website

    :)

    Thanks

Oh i see, well i could be wrong but any image can use that attribute, i dont think anything specifc has to be done to the design to qualify it for that.

Not really. As long as there is a section on the graphic that I can stretch
