I seem to be having a migraine today (started with anxiety/depression when I woke up and now I'm starting to feel some pain so I realize it's migraine), and I'm going to try the advice that I got from some very smart people here a couple days ago... drinking a few big glasses of water and trying to get some rest in the dark, instead of going to the ER for a painkiller or using medical marijuana. I'll let you all know how it works. P.S. I have been drinking more water every day, but forgot to this morning... quite a coincidence, eh? I'm very optimistic right now that I will be able to beat this one, and that is a big deal since they have been so debilitating in the past. If this works I'm gonna be embarrassing you all with my thank you's more then Glen Beck did last night.
I got something from the doctor Cafergot tablets, it is suppose to be effective for migraine. I don't dare to take too much pain killer it loses its effectiveness. I am going to try to rest in the dark next time round
My dad has them all the time. All you have to do is calm down, take a asprin or two, and sit back and relax where there's very little sound or light. He said that when he was little, he worried a lot about it, and they were a lot worse. Now that he knows what to do, he can bounce back up in an hour or two.
This is truly amazing how much better I feel already. I used a combination of several different things. I'm still feeling it a little bit, but feeling well enough to get on here with the monitor contrast/brightness all the way down. First, I feel I should give credit to the following awesome people for their advice: ncz_nate Jackuul Rebecca drgeorgep Here is exactly what I did: 5-6 large glasses of water 600mg ibuprofen 500mg tylenol 1 small cup of coffee tried to calm myself and recognize what was happening took a cold shower and let the ice cold water on my head ate some healthy food (fruits/veggies) avoided bright light/loud noises I'm serious when I say they are normally terrible, and any doctor has always tried to give me drugs with some very nasty side effects. I still feel a bit strange, but way better. And there are still more things I could have safely added to it, but I can always try those if it starts to come back. Sure beats getting a couple hundred dollar bill for a $5 painkiller shot that makes me question my sanity lol. I owe you all a big thank you.
Thanks, I have heard of those, but never asked my doctor. I think I may try that to replace the caffeine/ibuprofen/Tylenol.
hey I think my migraine has almost completely broken. w00t! Only other thing I've done is talk to my girlfriend Thank you, thank you, thank you, lmao... I always heard of these natural remedies, but not from anyone I respected enough to risk it, cause if it were to go wrong, I'd be in a world of hurt. Time for bed and some nice peaceful sleep now. In the morning I'll be all fresh and new.
Exercise helps me when I get them as well as a HOT shower... BUT some of them NO way in hell to get ride of it just have to ride it out. Hang n there .. I get them about once a month and STRESS starts the trigger
I get terrible migraines often too. Sometimes it wakes me up during my sleep because of its sudden attack which is really weird. I only drink 2 tablets of aleve and take a rest with the lights off and no sounds. If it's too painful, my sister injects me with nubaine (forgive my spelling) I don't drink much water either. I even think my blood smells like coffee mixed with coke (eew!) so drinking lots of water to cure my migraine would be a punishment.
