Why am I getting no sales?

    Hello everybody,

I'm new to the Affiliate Marketing thing and I just recently started PPC on Google AdSense and Yahoo. The ad says: Affordable Parking Sensors as low as $50 www, sensorparking(dot)com

Since then, I've had a decent boost in visitors, but no sales. I get about 10 people clicking on the affiliate links that take them to amazon, but nobody buys anything. My average people coming to the site is close to 50 a day.

I've been doing google adlink and yahoo. $50 a month on google and $5 a day on yahoo (which I just put on freeze until I can get past this problem). I've also been sending in articles, daily blogs, and had some stuff on digg until they removed it because it was directed to an affiliate site.

Can you guys check out my site and give any advice where the problem may be?

    Thank you...

I hope this doesnt sound like a silly question, but is the url behind each of your 'Buy Now' buttons correct? The only reason I ask is that I have only recently become an Amazon affiliate and the url I use (which contains my id) to point to a product is way longer.

My first impression of your site, it does not look like a shopping site, rather an informational site.

You should surf around other shopping sites, check out their design, landing page etc, then spend some money and hire a professional to redesign your website before moving forward on PPC.

I agree with gonka. Presentation is a huge key in converting sales. It doesn't matter sometimes what your price is but more of how someone feels when they go to the site. Online users are much pickier and you have to cater to that.

Agreed with the above...When you're doing affiliate marketing with the "PPC > landing page > vendor" method, then what you do is create a website where the main focus is on the product/service. Everything should focus on that product/service, and then you build around that.

More content and more pages is not always better in this case. You want to have just 1 or 2 pages, and both of them need to have very strong "calls to action". That means very clear header text and/or buttons that lead your visitors to click.

That said, even if you design the perfect page, all offers are not going to work...You've got to make sure you're getting the right traffic too. The goal isn't to get as much traffic as possible, it's to get the right traffic ;)

Also, Amazon Associate cookie life is famously short-lived. Only 24 hours (at least the last time I knew). So you may very well be making "sales" but just not getting credited for them because of the stingy cookie policy.

Oh, well if that's the case, it doesn't matter how good your landing page or targeting is...you won't make any sales that way for sure, lol

I stand corrected, tsc, although those links still don't look right to me. DJ, try getting the links again from amazon.

Thanks for all of your advice everybody. Yeah according to amazon, I have the right link to my product. Also I can see on amazon everytime somebody clicks on the "buy it now" from my webpage.

But yeah, you guys are right about my site looking too much like a informative site and not a selling site. I can see how this would be distracting to buyers...

My recommendation would be to replace that big "BLOG" thingy with a "BUY NOW" followed by several links.

The site doesn't particularly shout "this is an information site", but if you have "BUY NOW", it will immediately let visitors know that they can buy on this site. Certainly it'll be better than the existing blog box that there is now!

Make sure you are not linking from your ads to the homepage, but to the specific product pages.
