Hello directory owners.. Do you track your directory submissions ? Have you setup any analytic goals for tracking purpose ? I am not doing this.. Plz guide me with the best tracking system to track directory submissions.
Google analytics is one way. Another way is to use the mod made by Freewebspace the DP member. I have yet to use either of these.
I've programmed my own affiliate prog to track sales from partners. You might create one tracking system by your own or asking someone to do it for ya... A customized one is always the best.
Thats all we use is freewebs mod... Never tried "analytics" but would rather wait for silkysmooths version if it ever comes about thx malcolm
We're running low on cash, being christmas and all, so we have tied a piece of cotton to all of our links and we follow them that way.
with mails ? I mean how you track visitors that submit a site... from which country, which site referred to yours etc.
Yes i would... and for $15 bucks you think it wouldnt be? lol It shows me exactly where the visitor came from... like so.... http://www.google.ca/search?q=add+url+technology&hl=en&start=30&sa=N 74.15.125.71 - 2007-12-19 15:47:37 http://www.google.com/search?q=fitness+and+health+add+link&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&... 72.73.7.208 - 2007-12-19 13:59:17 http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=add+url+health+insurance&ei=UTF-8&fr=yfp-t-5... 67.53.120.242 - 2007-12-18 11:13:19 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=595902 121.247.195.135 - 2007-12-18 11:12:56 This is an example from addurl-links.com in my admin panel and as you can see it shows 3 main things... 1. I track my submissions with google analytics. It's very easy Just go to edit, then under goal conversions and funnel select edit. For the Goal URL put http://www.yourdirectory.com/payment.php?payed Then we like to watch the whole funnel, so we put Step 1: http://www.yourdirectory.com/submit we name this Submit View step 2: http://www.yourdirectory.com/payment.php?id= we name this Listing submitted Hope this helps
I still don't by Analytics, But Matik this is a really cool trick can this same be used for PhpLB ? Please let me know.
This has been asked before and the answer is no. Its because of the SEO friendly URLs/page that the user gets sent to after payment.
