I think you are missing the fact that Iraq was in a state of war with Iran for the last decade, before beig driven out of Kuwait.

But wait, US "liberated" Kuwait, right? But why isn't it a "democracy" yet? Petty double standards!!

I have studied US weapon systems, and I agree, that Iran can be completely annihilated without US sending a soldier on its soil. That is precisely the reason Iran would want to build a Nuclear Bomb. Its existence is being threatened. That is what any country would do.

Remember North Korea? It was rewarded for developing Nukes.

 

I hear alot about Iran-Iraq WARS but NO ONE HAS BROUGHT UP THE RUSSIANS PART IN THOSE WARS. Right now were doing exactly what Senior Bush (and PRESCOTT Bush) wanted. NWO!
Keep in ming there is NO TALIBAN. The Taliban was started by the U.S. to fight off the Russians when the invaded.

Meh here are some more random thoughts to add to the ever growing pile of them here...
I doubt Bin Laden is in Afghanistan anymore.

I think attacking Iran would start WW3 and I think a lot of countries that are not theocracies but do have a large muslim population would turn into theocracies overnight and join the effort. Hooray for the crazy fuckin jihadists and woe be all of us who just want to live out our lives in peace.

The U.S could easily lay waste to Iran in a matter of weeks especially if WW3 started and we didn't feel obligated to minimize civilian casualties or leave something worth rebuilding.

Iraq would turn into another Afghanistan permanently, basically a no man's land of unexploded land mines and a basic hell on earth of burning oil fields. Iran might end up the same way but I would think they would still retain enough national pride to rebuild after the war ended.

The Western Alliance (just calling it western for kicks, I would assume China would be a member) would win although it would be very bloody and many would die. Terrorism would definitely increase after the war but I think it would be a non-issue during the war since all the Jihadists would be joining an actual army of some sort.

It would be a land grab free for all after it got really ugly and it would be quite interesting to see who teamed up with whom. For instance, what would India do? How about the Indonesian islands?

All in all it would be a clusterfuck of untold proportions and in no ones best interest. It is not fun to talk about either, but I think if WW3 started I would have to join the Army and I think a lot of other Americans would join out of fear for their families and there would be no need for a draft.

Wow heat what a thoughtful response. Perhaps if you could point out where I am wrong in my hypothetical estimate of WW3 we could actually discuss it. I did not in fact have any sort of dream, nor do I think my prediction is nice at all. It is quite horrible to imagine really.

 

You think China would join the west? I don't think so. IMO If WW3 ever happened it would be something like :

Russia
China
All Muslim countries (Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Syria, Jordan, Kazakstan, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan etc etc)
And possibly India, Korea and Japan

Vs

Western Europe (UK, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, etc etc)
USA
Canada
Australia

You really need to focus, you are all over the place. You at one time stated it wouldn't be just against Iran, it'd be against all of muslims, linking it to we would have more terrorist attacks. The other person on your side went to claiming we would be fighting those already in Iraq, which sure appears to be part of your point as you could not even explain how this almighty Iranian army would even get acrossed the border without the US destroying them.

I'm missing it? Serioulsy I am? Even being so, I'm sorry our military might simply is that much better than Iraq's or Iran's ever was. We are also talking about a simple attack here, not taking over the country.
We dont' even have to get into our powerful stuff in order to attack Iran, they could not even hit us back, they could try to hit us in Iraq and neighboring countries. The key word is 'try'

I said it wouldn't just be Iran that would retaliate, and you are some how comparing Iran to Iraq which is totally ludacris. You have loads of Bases all across of the middle east, Iran will turn them all into thin air if you attack.

 

I think that is pretty accurate, except for Canada should be on the top list and possibly Germany. Canada wouldn't do much but yell at the USA in french, but they would not takes sides with the US.
