Occupying is one thing, attacking is another. I am not for attacking Iran btw, simple logic. Iran does not stand a chance against a US attack.

 

The US will squash any retaliation by Iran....besides, I bet Israel would bomb them first. I say use a nuke to take out a nuke...

What 'nuke' would that be? Kind of hard to use a nuke to take out a 'nuke' that appears to not exist.

See the problem with this thread is that the OP was writing a "what if", and not actual fact. If the US bombed Iran, it would be because of actual proof of a nuke...so for those of you that have asked "what nuke?" then you obivously didn't read the OP's comments.

My point is that you can't under estimate them, I don't want any casulties on both sides, people think it will just be a bomb and run job but it won't work like that, Iran will hit back hard.

 

If Iran tried to 'hit back hard' the US would hit back even harder. To occupy would be hell, to simply destroy them would be extremely easy if we wanted to.

 

It would be never ending, I don't think you understand. It would be a war against Muslims, not Iran. Terrorist attacks in western countries would increase 100 fold.

Iran is not Iraq. You are underestimating the power. Iran has advanced Russian and Chinese Anti-aircraft missiles, advanced equipment. Even though US is very strong, the damage would be enormous, and US citizens would not appreciate body bags being sent in numbers never seen before.

I agree, US has huge experience in "destroying" nations. I don't think US can scare Iran. Anyway, this scenario won't be coming, since Ron Paul will be the next President, and he is never going to bomb Iran for dumb reasons..

Iraq this time around was pretty useless, we could destroy Iran if we wanted to w/o even setting a single foot on Iranian soil. To attack Iran we would not even have to send a plane, missiles work wonders

So more suicide bombings and such, pretty far cry from whiping the US military out that is already there. If we are at our bases how are they going to attack us?

Ahh yes they miscalculated us having to occupy. Actual combat though lasted how long? While I do not agree with the Iraq war, occupation is totally different than simply attacking.
