Haha Someone From DP Attacked one of my sites this morning.

ha. Unbelievable how stupid some folks can be.

I woke up this morning with an impressive 1,366.67% CTR (9 Impressions 123 clicks) on one of my brand new sites. The site (which has been temporarily removed from my signature) had had a total of 3 unique visitors during the time of the attack 2 search engine visitors (total time on site 0:09 seconds) and on DP visitor (from Malaysia: total time on site 00:30:49).

Thankfully this made tracking down the offender and reporting the issue to google quite an easy task. The issue has been resolved as far as adsense is concerned, and now I am contemplating further recourse.

Anyhow, I'm not sure what the perpetrator was trying to accomplish, however.. I would like to convey my sentiments. Congratulations on your epic failure.

    Happy Holidays.

Nice catch and glad to see that you are using the tracker for moments like this. Anything to help prevent what Google thinks as fraudulant clicks. And would not be your fault.

What is going on here at DP? Lately lots of shady characters have started doing things that are very underhanded. One of my sites was questioned Google and now a few of my customers have been penalized also from attacks on their sites.

Really thinking about laying low from DP until the dust settles.

I think there are few scripts out there which automatically remove
your adsense code after X clicks from the same browser session...

Anyway... the best thing is to come clean and talk to google about your
    findings...

Its amazing how harmful some stupid idiots are?!

Which "tracker" would you recommend for keeping an eye on adsense clicks ?? I had a weird number of hits on a site of mine yesterday as well ( its a 1 page site, that I haven't promoted or done anything with in years ).
    Page Impressions = 1
    Clicks = 12

It would be nice to be able to monitor such dodgy activity and have the findings ready to pass onto Google should a problem with dodgy clicks arise in the future.

I compared the time of the attack with my analytics stats, luckily I only had 3 uniques, so it was pretty easy to spot. Then I simply checked the site activity from the suspicious visitor, and bingo! This is why making full use of channels is absolutely essential. It is also important to monitor your clicks for suspicious activity.

I am disappointed that the attack came though my DP link, but I suppose that is part of the deal here. In the future I will be more cautious, in regards to what I link via my sig. Only because I have better things to do with my morning than track down Malaysian AdSense attackers.

Although, I will say, in all my years as an AdSense member, this is the first overt attack. Still, remember the Boy Scouts motto: "Be Prepared"

I have similar problems right now with one of my sites. All of my forms get spammed daily from a few DP users. Unfortunately where there is money there are shady people. It is getting harder and harder to sift through all the BS here.

Why these guys use their time and effort for their own sites and make something out of it ? It happened to me few times on same site and i think my account saved coz i already emailed Google right away.
