Content Network brought PPC Way Up.. A few questions

    PPC Advertising..

I had a pretty good campaign running with PSP being the targeted keyword. I started off at 10 cents / click and things were running pretty smooth. Clicks were averaging at just under 8cents per. I had optimized my ads to be very appealing to the eye so my CTR and quality score were excellent. BUT.. I didn't realize ads were being displayed in content networks as well, and this brought my quality score way down and Minimum bid up.

    Couple questions:

Am I right in assuming that the low CTR from my ads on the content network brought my minimum bid up? If so, is there anyway to start fresh, with the low starting min. bid I had when I began that campaign?

Also, I just started a new campaign with the keyword Wii. Apparently I can't get these ads displayed unless I go $5.00 or above on my bid. How is it possible that the price difference between "PSP" and "Wii" is so big? I mean, some of these keywords I'm using for Wii are practically untouched. Any ideas on this?

Last question.. If I do go ahead and bid $5.00 per click on my Wii campaign, is it likely the price will start much, much lower than 5 bucks and gradually reduce to pennies when the quality score goes up?

Thanks for reading. Any bump in the right direction would be gnarly dudes :D

Low ctr in the content network doesn't influence your quality score in the search network
at the bottom of the page here - in google's own words

Quality Score for the search network only considers your performance on Google. Your CTR on the content network, therefore, has no effect on your minimum CPC bids or ad position on Google and the search network.

In the UK, the Wii has been promoted as THE xmas present. PSP barely figures. Demand has hugely outstripped supply - to the extent that Nintendo have pulled most of their TV ads over here to try and reduce demand.

I suspect, similar situation around most of Europe. That is why the Wii keyword is so CPC high at the moment.

    Thanks!

I hadn't thought of that but it sure does make a helluva lot more sense now that you mention it.

Thanks for the quick reply. Have a good one :)

Edit: On a side note, I just signed up with YSM and the CPC for some of those same keywords is 10 cents!

    Hello

You need to monitor keywords extensively and need a professional to look into it.
