    But..but.. but... lol

OK. Yes, I want traffic. I would LOVE to get traffic from Google by having my keywords show on first page of Google search (SERP). How do I get this to happen? Backlinks. I am not so concerned or interested in PR, but I am interested in SERP's.

Makes since, or am I missing something?

    Thanks!!

He was most likely referring to the fact that, ideally, a link should bring in traffic as well. Because traffic can result in backlinks, and quality ones at that.

How? Think about it this way: if you have a good resource, people will gladly spread the word once they hear about you. And they can spread the word by linking to you.

Yes, you can purchase links in order to obtain good rankings, which will result in traffic. That is one approach.

But keep in mind that spending that money on links/banners which result in traffic, which can result in backlinks (if your visitors are impressed and spread the word), good rankings and then again, traffic is an approach which can yield far better results if your resource is worth it.

    Hope it helps,

Yep Absolutely what I was meaning alan, thanks for chipping in.

to put it briefly: a link for a links sake is no good, even if it does help with serps as you could easily get google penalised for it.

You are right in your assertion re. SERPs, BUT there are a lot more factors than backlinks alone. if your niche is competitive then no amount of backlinks will make up for the fact that you have no google history and not many pages indexed.

therefore, if your buying links, make sure you get your moneys worth with traffic!!!

Depends but if you build links more on gaining reciprocal links that\'s bad since according to Google Linking scheme that too many linkexchanges is bad very bad....

    Build more one way links.....

I disagree, you can rank with just one page and no history. Heck it only took me a month to hit page one on new domain, with no history and very few pages indexed and horrible on-page SEO just with backlinks.

Be quick but be natural. Max 20 backlinks per day for a site to ensure Google be index a site.

Sir, would you mind telling me if that keyword was competetive, and approx. how many backlinks placed in that time?

P.S. Your comments sure have been helpful for me.
