Who thinks Google PR is accurate?

Is it just my opinion or is Google and other search engine ranking fundamentally flawed, how many times do you search for a subject only to find pages of irrelevant links and the reach page five before finding content that actually has something relevant to the search words, so often it seems that pages who's web masters know how to manipulate the system come out on top while relevant sites are demoted to the 75th position. Will Google ever get to a point where what the page is about and its content outweighs things like (so called) relevant links? I know that in theory that is how it should work, but so often in practice the results are based on SEO skill not content.

google PR is a waste, useless, and it's pretty pathetic now, people shouldn't even look at that anymore - they USED to base it on backlinks then they penalized all sites with outgoing links even if they werent paid for - really annoying

if you want to buy links, look at traffic and look at how many backlinks it has, then make your own assumption about what the PR should be lol

i agree Google PR is flawed in some cases. My friend's site has had consistent traffic for the last 5 or 6 months (around 4,000-5,000 visitors and growing), and he has a PR of 0. This is terrible given that Google recently reassigned PR? Makes me mad when I see a site like his go without a PR and crap sites with a PR. A lot of BS!

i think its relevance (certainly in the toolbar) is dropping all the time to the point it is no longer relevant at all.

Google PR has absolutly no value at all anymore, it never did really have much value but even less nowadays.

As for search engines not giving you relevat results, all I can say is you must not have the nack of putting in the right search term cos I always get what I need in the top 3 results of any search engine normally. I find Yahoo, Google, Ask and MSN to give me what I need on every search I make near enough carnt remember the last time I had to go to the second page or even worse check in a different search engine to get what I wanted.

    the question would be
is PageRank an accurate measure for ......... ?
    Yeah for what?
How many backlinks point to that page?
Quality of the backlinks to the page?
    Who gives a s***?

A PR gives a site an image of it's establishment. It's a psychological approach; a site with a pr8 will have a image of highly established site where as sites with pr1 are perceived as kiddy sites.

My PR is getting less important for me every day. :D
I don't want to go crazy someday

We can consider it accurate if we want. I don't think it is as accurate as meter or litre :)
Too many options to compare. I mean there is no adequate model for 1PR. Or it's too hard to explane

I would want Google to change everything to 100 grading system... That would be more accurate!

    Disagree.
The average internet user doesn't even know about pagerank and a webmaster should be smart enough to judge a site by many other factors, like content, usability, layout, coding.
