Looking Forward To Playing Online Poker Again?

Edit: I do realize that for some people it can be an addiction similar to video games and shouldn't be played if it will run your life.

Am I right in assuming online poker will be legal again if RP is in charge?

I'm from the US and definitely looking forward to being able to play online poker again some day. I think it's crazy to outlaw a skill sport like that online especially when you're in a state that you can walk down the street and sit down and play it, but then still allow it offline and even use non-skill gambling to take back money from active duty troops (saw that on the news today :( ).

I won one of those WSOP freerolls (before bush outlawed it) and anyway... I knew that in real life I didn't have any poker face whatsoever lol, and would just get knocked out in the first few hands, so I just took the bonus cash and didn't even go (regretted it for a little while but still proud of getting that far  ).

My point is, I played long enough to know it's even more of a skill sport then most physical sports and takes a ton of endurance.

I'm really looking forward to being able to playing once in a while and match wits with all those great players while conversating, once we get our freedom back. I can't stand losing money gambling, but I don't consider poker gambling... unless you're playing someone better, haha.

You guys from other countries are lucky... I'm jealous lol :p

    Getting the itch already.

There are still companies that accept US based customers full tilt and absolute poker are a few that come to mind.

Really frustrating though. . because of the outlaw I cant put any money into my poker accounts.. . all major credit cards dont allow it, and I haven't been able to set up an alternate account to do it. . very frustrating.

There was recently a poker site (Absolute) that got busted for rigging a tournament. It was a huge scandal across the major poker forums. At first the site denied any wrongdoing and then when it was proven that someone with an old beta account had won the tournament then they tried to refund every player's money back and hush it up.

If a major site like Absolute has been proven to rig games and then try and cover it up can you really trust any online poker websites anymore?

Yeah, I used to suspect a lot of players were cheating (working together). I loved the ones that used bots though... easiest of all to beat. I think they should have brought it out of legal limbo instead of lazily outlawing it, so they all didn't have to be based overseas, then it could be regulated better.

I wish they would legalize, regulate and tax all forms of online gambling.

Its in the gray zone, congress passed a new gambling law a few months ago and included poker sites in them with forced a lot of them to close down. Like partypoker.com
