My Idea

Folks, before you read all this - Bear in mind, what you read hear will look utterly impossible, but is definitely probable - atleast for me ;)

My Idea, is to bring in a mechanism which not just indexes the web, but indexes the human behaviour and mind to come out with a powerful tool which in crude english will - "render to people what they are searching for"

    What does this mean?

Simple, this in my opinion will change the way we look at the world wide web and the product/idea/thought im talking about is already in the making and COULD be a potential competitor to Google, even though i hate comparing my product with Google.

Now, the idea in very very very simple terminology is - integrating contemporary web search with human psychology and the way the world wide web works to accurately point out things which users want to see in the web.

I aint an ace at web development or programming but, im building this idea myself for the moment to make sure that its a secret of some sorts stuck inside that mind of mine, until i really come out with it once im old enough to sign an MoU.

Any thoughts my dear friends? ;)

Not Similar to ChaCha bro ;)

Search + Psychology is just a part of it - It has more to do with behavorial tracking, search tracking, geographical info, heat maps and a lot more

Im just about done brainstorming on exactly what its going to do and how its gonna do it and im working on the backend of stuff doing bits and pieces of the architecture which will make it do the stuff it has to do.

Not everyone likes or allows himself to be tracked so that is one potential problem area. If you are trying to tailor search based on user, you are collecting data specific to him which will involve user level tracking. (google does do basic tracking itself)
At the end of the day it boils down to how many users would want this.

Well... If you're just done with the brainstorming, and you're not a programmer, now is the hard part... sounds interesting though, if you ever finish it, post a link here :)

Well, we dont track induviduals, we track subsets or communities.

    Ever heard of customer clustering?

When it moves to a wider plane where your targetting subsets, you dont have people crying foul or suing you.

Well, you know something which is even harder - Thinking of a domain name for the idea - Thats where i always get stumped and end up registering 35 domain names per idea :D

if you are looking to deliver results that are of benefit to one user, you will have to go into his psychology. The way i search and want my results will be different from say my brother(and they are pretty close).
At the end of the day you can cluster and target at a larger scale. People from one city most probably would want the results tailored in certain manner. As you target smaller groups, the accuracy will probably improve but so would the privacy concerns.

Thats where the catch is - You can easily understand what one person is from a cluster by observing his interests which we garner after he's agreed to give them out.

Then we map their movements and psychology by grouping them in clusters to give them what they're looking for.

It sounds like the way blockbuster makes movie selections on their website... you rate movies you've already seen, then it determines movies that are similar, and suggests them...

The working demo is what is going to be hard to do, since i really have to work on this and do most of the stuff myself - I dont want the guy whom im hiring to do the programming/backend to run away with the blueprint do I ?

    UPDATE:

I have a working mini prototype of this in paper and will be implementing it soon.

The best part is - This might combine search and social networking to a large extent that this may be both a google and a facebook/myspace killer eventually.
