    Hey everyone,

I just don't know how and where I can resolve a copyright issue.
Someone “stole” my entire website and copied the copy in more than 4 web sites.
I asked his hosting providers to remove his copies, and It works (until now).
but the problem is, he damaged my ranking in search engines by using all my content , images and graphics, Definitely everything // even the google-analytics code..// Idiot //

My website is // It's a web design company:
    http://www.f-kar.com

    The thief's websites are :

    http://www.fez-web.com
    http://www.fez-info.com
    http://www.fez-web.tk
    www.fez.free2host.net
    ...
    ...
I've checked They are disabled now, but I think he is going to launch them by changing the host provider,// as always //

What I hate the most, my seasrch engiones' ranking is still damaged.// got down to 3 //:mad:

Please, could you tell me how to get back my pagerank and fix all this problem??

    Looking forward for you help.
    Thank you in advance.
    Rahim

What you can do is complain the same to Google through the Google webmaster tool may be that shall help and you may get a copyscape logo to be installed on your website so that next time your copy shall not be copied by anyone. This shall not be a foolproof idea but with the image you may claim from the website through copyscape as that acts as a testimonial for yaa. Please correct me guyz if I am wrong.

Seems like either they took the sites down or their host did as none of those links work anymore.

It's very annoying, I know how you feel but unfortunately it's going to happen from time to time, although copying the entire site is a real bummer. Good luck reporting it to Google, everything I've reported to them gets completely ignored, I don't bother anymore. I hope you have better luck. :(

okay if you have got things sorted out a bit, u can encode your html or php

    try this:

    http://www.codehouse.com/webmaster_tools/html_encoder/

or search google for free html encoder.

there's every chance that the thief still has ur source code on his hard drive.
but u can still encode if you plan to update your site, so that any thief cannot copy ur new site content or design.

AND: if you get that guys email id,
tell him that he's been reported to the FBI you plan to launch a lawsuit against him.(you don't have to go to court, but just make the thief pee in his pants)
give him 24 hrs to back off.

    pretend to be stern
try to use some corporate english, like a lawyer

and keep searching copyscape.com for copies of your site regularly

1- That will now work, anybody can decode those easily, (about as useful as a 'right click' script).
2- Why the FBI? do you know that he/she is in the US? I am in the UK, could I call Scotland Yard? or does it have to be the FBI?
3- Copyscape is not updated as often as Google.

To the OP, contact their service provider. They normally have policies in place and will suspend the account, (it looks like they have already done it).
No need to pretend to be anything, just follow the proper channels like everyone else.

A real lawyer will send a cease and desits for about $100. You would have to find a lawyer in the persons country for it to be really effective though.

You can report him to google too, thats free.

    http://www.google.com/dmca.html

Dont waste your time lying or bluffing to the perp, it just wastes your time. Dont threaten the perp either, it just makes things worse.

Take some action in the form of a cease and desist and go from there.

Geez - I know the feeling myself - My sites are often copied. I am in Australia, therefore it is easy for me to take action against Australian businesses or individuals which I deal with swiftly through lawyers here. All the other offenders have been in the US. Its crazy you send them a nice email asking to remove the stuff as you have clearly ripped it off and they never a reply.

I have been in contact now with a firm in Nevada who is going to hopefully take care of for me, speaking with them tomorrow. I agree with the above post a "cease and deist" will be the way to go. I am sure that the law firm will probably recommend this.

For some fun check out just a few copies of my sites:
    Mine: http://www.creditworld.com.au
    Theirs: http://financing-guide.com/

    A nice one:
    Mine: http://www.creditcardoffers.com.au
    Theres: http://www.creditcardsgalaxy.com/

The list keeps going!! - I have copyscape checking my pages which works well but not for PPC sites or sites that are not in the SEs. spartac you are not alone!

Point to add for me - I dont think people ripping off your stuff really affects your rankings. From been copied I have not felt SERP loss. If you originate the content and the content is indexed by the major search engines, then a few weeks later someone rips it off, then there content pages are scene as duplicates and they receive the penalty.

SERP rankings go up and down all the time.

by FBI, i just meant to give an example...
or u could even say that u r an american and the the FBI is doing the hunting for u!

and looking at the sheer number of times this guy's site has been copied, i don't think contacting service providers will help....
the thief may just use a new host everytime.

Find the person through who.is if you can e.g.

    Registrant: http://www.fez-web.com
    Fez Web Designs
    21, Bloc 9, Blad jabri,
    Ain La3roussi,
    Sahb el ward
    Fes, 30000
    MA

Contact a lawyer in that persons area and get them to send a "cease and deist" order to them. You can sue them for loss and damages of business if you really keen and have $$ but you have to be able to prove it. For me I am happy when they just remove the site.

Duplicate content has nothing to do with pagerank therefore NOTHING that this person did impacted your pagerank.

Pagerank updates and you got knocked down during the last update, it happens all the time.

Your ranking will NOT be affected. Original content was yours, so you are not penalised. The one who nicked your info will be penalised FACT.

Lots of ineffective and bad advice in this thread.

    1. Copyscape won't help you.
    2. C&D won't help you with your SERPs
    3. DMCA to Google is your best option but can take months for google to take action and be reflected in SERPs

Just keep doing what you are doing to get the hosts to shut them down and be sure to DMCA Google if he gets indexed again.
