    Hi DP'ites,

    I am looking for your recommendations on the best PHP forum for B2B discussions that i can install on one of my website but should have the following features;

    1. It should be customisable.
    2. Non branding feature should be there.
    3. Should have a paid section where only paid subscribers can visit and post.
    4. Should contain extra fields in the User CP section.

Being a newbie, I am looking for the best of the best information on how to get started and whom to pick.

Looking forward to hear really soon.

    Thanks,
    Mike...

vBulletin is the best thing I can think of, and I believe you can pay a bit extra to remove to branding/copyright feature. You can probably do everything with phpBB as well, though if you remove the branding people will refuse to give you help in the support forums (which is fair enough really).

Is anyone here has any clue on what does affiliates4u.com/forum uses?

Also how about phpbb? They have released the phpbb3 version recently.

If you want stable go with vBulletin.
If you want to risk a bit go with phpbb3 - it's free too :)

    Thanks for the comments guys.

I think i will be going for the vBulletine only.
Having seen their charges i saw that they charge 77 GBP for the one time professional installation, how worthy is that. Or is it possible for a newbie to do the same by referring to some manual or help book?

    Comments appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Mike...

vbulletin is byfar the best forum script i have seen. (commercial)

I am very comfortable with vbulletin since i am pretty much used to it than using other forum scripts. I dont mind paying $80/yr for the start.

If you want to save money and dont want to spend any money, Punbb or SMF are really good. You can find some of the best collection of forum scripts here: http://best-php-scripts.com/forum_scripts.htm

I just installed phpbb3, I think you shd really try it. Forget about all the hacking incidents of phpbb2. phpbb3 looks and will be a killer application! Truly exciting trying it out and strongly recommended.

Good to hear that you are pretty happy with the PhPBB3. Mind sharing the website that you have the forum running.

Also how easy or hard is it to have the SEO friendlyness (Automated title and meta description with rewrited html urls) in the vBullentin forum and in PHPBB3 too.

Thanks for the response so far.

Where can i get the plugins for vBulletin and how can i use them?

Any existing website with the use of vBulletin plugins would give me more insight.

    Comments appreciated.

Still building, would love to share it once it is done, I must say it is much better and easier to configure than phpbb2, a lot of new features I am still exploring.
Can't really say much other than the look and feel at this time.
