Please review my new joke site.

Hi

I am looking for an honest review of my new Joke Website.

I am looking for comments on colours used, site loading time, adsense placement, ease of use etc.

I have been developing the script for some time now and with a little help from a scriptlance programmer i have just finished the search function on the site.

It should also be quite SEO friendly, i have used mod rewrite on the site and each joke has unique meta content.

The user end is 100% so if you sign up you can rate jokes and submit your own jokes etc.

Top jokes from top 20 list are not funny

 

Looks pretty nice.. but I would personally prefer a color background on it instead of just white.

I like the placement of that google ad.. you should get very good CTR.

You should see if you could add a "joke of the day" section on the front page.. I could see it getting more visitors involved in your site.

Can you elaborate, i am using i.e7 and firefox and don't see any problems with the top20 page?

Do you think this is a browser issue? i dont see any problems with IE7 and FF?

I am planning on adding a lot more jokes once the whole script it finished, i started out with a database of around 1000 jokes and have built the site around it, so once the admin side is developed i will concentrate on getting more jokes.

 

Looking nice - work in navigation area & concentrate on text format.

should there be an easier way to move from one joke to another without much of mouse movement?

And better use adsense square boxes instead of those skyscrapers

OK done some more work on the site, text issue has been resolved, text and link should be same size as Google ads.

worked a bit more on the coding and now all pages except login and register are all html valid (w3c standard)

a few other modifications have been made to make it more user friendly if i decide sell the script, footer has been moved to its own file, Google ads can be updated from a single file now, also the bookmark can easily be edited from a single file if the scripts is on another domain.

hopefully about another weeks work and the admin will be totally finished as well.
