Forums are good for adsense?

Hi everybody, i want to make a question to DP experts

I have a forum about gaming, with 20k unique visitors/day and i have a 350 clicks average every day in my adsense ads.

With this stats, i have only a 0.1$ click average. This is normal?.

    Thanks.

I would say yes, it's normal for a gaming site. Gaming is not a very high-paying niche.

Seems to be a bit low, even as for game forum (maybe your forum users clicks multiple times and this makes the rate so low).

Depends. arcade or what? Example, I have some gaming sites, my wow ones pay the best because there are a lot of people selling wow gold and guides (and afilliates marketing guides), however other pc and console game sites can have .03-.08 clicks most often.

Console game site. Normally at the morning i get a 0.6$ clicks... but only 4 or 5 clicks. After this, all clicks are about 0.15-0.1$.

Gaming + Forum = poor earnings. It just seems to be the way of the world. And I don't even really have advice to increase the earnings.

You say it is a gaming site. Is it SEO optimized? Do you have quality content, not counting content from the forum. Do you have text and links related to gaming in the site that isn't generated from the forum? Where does your traffic come from? Is it all natural and ppc? Or is some of it bought traffic through a service? Any purchased traffic won't get you jack on adsense.

The best thing to do is build backlinks and increase pagerank and seo optimize the site to increase the natural search engine traffic. Then advertisers will big more to have an ad on your site. You may want to consider CPM instead of CPC. How old is the site?

When I first put up a site a few months ago, the ads were terrible. It was a computer site, and I was getting ads from shoe companies. What the heck do shoes have to do with computers? After a few months though, They were all very targeted computer related ads, and I think it had a lot do with keywords on my site.

Yes, is SEO optimized. I started about two years ago with it. Is ranked 20.000 in alexa and 4# google with the first primary keyword. I have text and link exchange. The traffic comes from google 75% natural. No traffic bought. i have tons of tutorials and articles generated, not only forum content.

I'm always changing adsense block placements, can this hurt my site ?. Now ads are very terrible at this hour. Normally at first hour all ads are content related.

i own a gaming forum, highest paid click was almost $3 lol, i get more money from impressions than clicks to be honest but forums are bad for cpc programs anyway

Yeah moving them shouldn't be the problem. You would eventually hit the right spot if you were doing that, but it sounds like you aren't. Change to CPM and see how it works out.

Then again, maybe adsense is bad for this type of site. Maybe you should look into lead generation programs. Promote someone elses gaming site and get paid $x per visit or per lead or per signup.

Um, one week i switched to CPM and got more money than CPC, but no more CPM in the next three weeks, that's why switched back.

I will try a month and i will tell you the results :)

No, Adsense + kontera works the best. You need to learn how to use other ad networks.

The gaming niche sucks for cpc, we moved out of it long long ago.

It doesn't suck for CPC if you develop a site to go along the forum.

Not sure why you say gaming is a low niche. Of course it's not as high as a blog on law or something, but I get an average of .15 per click on mine.
