This has to be the most useless reply to a question I've seen yet on DP. Shared hosting plans get indexed slower than dedicated servers, this is due to the fact that shared plans are hosted with 100's if not 1,000's of other websites on one server, they are all using the same resources and it can lag the server or internet connection sometimes. Just go with a respectable hosting company for shared or dedicated and you should be fine, read some review websites.
check yahoo shared hosting or any other large hoster that has 100,000+ shared domains on one IP. Are the sites getting indexed slower? There could be 1,000,000 domains hosted on one IP, backed by 1000 dedicated servers in cluster, load balanced, performing much faster than many sites hosted on a dedicated server. Are the sites getting indexed slower because of lag (10 milliseconds)? I don't think so. The best advice is to use very reputable provider that doesn't oversell and have best possible uptime. Milliseconds will NOT affect your site indexing speed much, however, the downtime WILL.
thanks for the replies guys. the down-time makes sense to me, as a problem that could affect indexing. it seems that the bots learn about a site, and if it is updated rarely and is down on occasion when they visit, the indexing is likely to be pretty slow. where if it is always up, and updated regularly, the indexing seems to be faster. i would love to hear anyones views about what affects indexing speed. and how to help get more pages "found" by the search bots. rep added for taking time out to reply.
